I like Winter Thunder as a relatively quick playing Division-level Bulge game. I particularly like the employment of a Combat Matrix to add some tactical nuance to individual confrontations. As you know, it is also Chit-Pull. Probably best F2F, but good solo too.

Thanks for the review, Marco. I wasn't aware of this game but I will add it to my "potential purchase" list. I like the subdued colors of the map and the easy-to-read counters, so that puts the purchase of this game a little closer to the top of the list.

Just getting started playing this. There are quite a few rules exceptions and special cases for the first few rounds. Someone has put together a list of all these in the files section on BGG. This really should have been part of the player aids provided. I think it would be close to impossible for someone to remember all these special cases without a list handy.

Decision Tree: Would I have to pay $100 to Acquire Game (Y1/N1)? N1: Do I have space on my shelf to store it (Y2/N2)? Y2: Keep Game. Y1: Do I already have an adequate Bulge Game (Y3/N3)? Y3: Don't buy game due to diminished returns.

Looks like a rehash of ground first covered by Danny Parker forty years ago but with the chit from a cup method. Nice map and counters.
