That solo tho. Sometimes you get so caught up in Casey's composition, harmonies, and the billion other things going on to remember that he's a master guitar player as well. Definitely a favorite part of the album. I hope he plays it live or even does a video of himself playing it (fingers crossed)
@cammy6498 жыл бұрын
yeah. if you look at the tabs to these songs. they sound easy but he's good at hard chord progressions and most songs are really hard. his easiest upbeat song is prob in caudia venom. and that's sorta hard song

The musical mastery of every aspect of this song is so hard to find.. down to the vocal performance, message, mood, arrangement, solo... its truly a PERFECT performance that can easily impress even the pickiest musical snobs I would reckon. not a single thing in here that could be considered mediocre. The Dear Hunter Acts 1-5 are absolutely stunning start to finish! It BAFFLES me more people haven't recognized this talent! Casey is simply breathtaking with his passion. This music is THERAPY.

I lay my body down to rest my weary head I think I left someone there, I left myself for dead So is there anybody here who can tell me where I am? Or at least where I have been? Because I fear I'm lost and I cannot be found again I left my soul exposed to frail hands who hold my fate up in the air And through their fingers, hold the meaning of it all Down to the floor it goes So is there anybody here who can tell me where I am? Waking in the afternoon, a captive in a passive tomb Moments turn to long Decembers, stoking fires from dying embers I try to move a limb but there's a disconnect within A devil in the alchemy, a phantom staring back at me, it's you So is there anybody here who can tell me where I am? Or at least where I have been? Because I fear I'm lost and I cannot be found again Just waking in the afternoon, a captive in a passive tomb Moments turn to long Decembers, stoking fires from dying embers I try to move a limb but there's a disconnect within A devil in the alchemy, a phantom staring back at me A pain I simply can't express from troubles I have long repressed Then there's you

Clearly inspired by and channeling/paying homage to Pink Floyd with this song. The piano is reminiscent of “The Great Gig in the Sky” and the chorus is reminiscent of “Speak to Me/Breathe”.

I have a weird feeling that the solo is meant to signify a soul fighting its way out of a dead body or something to that effect, at least it makes some kinda sense from the lyrics. That was some pink floyd level emotion at the end there. Very reminiscent of "The great gig in the sky".
