Spotify threw this at me algorithmically and I love it. It's funky, it's wild, it's a little sinister but joyous at the same time. I wasn't familiar with Dear Hunter, but finding out that this song exists as part of a six-album story cycle that mostly sounds nothing like it has me excited to give Act 1 a try as a big fan of rock opera.

So, 2 years later, i presume you checked out the act 1, didn't really get hooked, but gave act 2 a chance and immediately fell in love with this band? And now at least yearly you listen to all of the acts and catch another little musical reprise that you didnt catch on previous listens and mumble to yourself "fucking Casey you sly devil" under your nose? There is no other way.

It just proves how this guy is a genious. Country, eletronic, heavy, pop... we've seen it all in The dear Hunter. And it's all excellent!

Ok ok, gotta say the first time I heard this song I started laughing not because it was bad but just because it was so out of the dear hunter norm. Now I freaken love this song.

The first time I listened to this album I put it on with my best headphones and lay in the dark just taking in the music until this song came on. I almost fell off my bed laughing, and had to get up and check to make sure I hadn't screwed up the playlist or stumbled into an alternate dimension. :P

this is just further proof, in my opinion, that the Dear Hunter's versatility is unmatched in the world of modern progressive rock. And , like a lot of others at first, I was pretty taken aback. but now, it puts a big fat smile on my face and is one of my favourite tunes of theirs. Music is magical
@WinterKnight957 жыл бұрын
Adam Coyne I would suggest you give Thank You Scientist a chance. They were my favorite band before I discovered dear hunter recently. Although I will admit their versatility doesn't QUITE match that of TDH.
@IvoNeto19495 жыл бұрын
There's a brazillian band that is absolutely versatile, its called "el efecto". Their last album "memórias do fogo", uses elements of samba, bossa nova, hip hop, classical music, raggae, chinese music, yoruba and pagode (witch is a mix of samba, axé and funk). You should check it out

King of Swords and All Goes Well is the perfect song set for someone with manic-depressive tendencies who's on an upswing, where everything seems to be going perfectly, and they've got grand ambitions that things are going to work out SO differently this time despite countless failures in the past- In other words, it's the perfect song set for me right now :B

This put the biggest smile on my face when I heard it pop up as I was nodding along seriously to Act IV. I love many different styles of music, and The Dear Hunter have an eclecticism I can really relate to.

+MrMcDroid As soon as I first found out about this album I immediately put my screensaver on, turned off the lights, and settled in to just soak in the music. When this song came on I burst out laughing. I soon realized that Casey has slowly turned into this strange amalgam of a progressive musician, classical composer, and pop star. Somehow, it all works together organically. I'm starting to think you could lock him in your average kitchen for two days with a tape recorder and he'd walk out of there with a good album.

Only song that sounds like this. I love how they make their regular prog rock. Go into an opera for some openings. And then do this funky song. And in act 5 their super unnecessary jazz song Mr usher

Also, in addition to my other comment. I feel like I’m in for a good surprise. This is the first The Dear Hunter song I am hearing. And this is apparently uncharacteristic? I’m in for a treat. After this song, I’m excited to hear what else this band has to offer.

I still can't believe how different this song is, and that is so weird, because The Dear Hunter's music is all super different, like Lillian and Mustard Gas are nothing alike, like in comparison, their music is all different from each other, but this one some how is so much farther from it all. It's great!

you guys don't get it? The "un-dear hunter song", almost popish, is on purporse. This song, if analyzed separately from the album, is satire about the unhealty side of pop culture
@avrathilelmheath55385 жыл бұрын
It's also very flashy and poppy because it mirrors (while telling about) Hunter's run for governor. He tailors himself to appeal to the general public, just like this song is, well, pop.
