These are my favorite books, having first found them in my school library in 5th grade, funnily enough. Reading it undoubtedly shaped my childhood to an extent not replicated prior or since with any other book.

Oooh good points about the characters! I didn't think of Dr. Leather (spelling?) And Zeb the same way! Is interesting, I do see how Dr was obsessed with Science. But also didn't Zeb reminded you of Edgar Allan Poe's poem the Raven!? Love the book, haven't finished it yet

I walked in and saw it in the youth section, ( the cover art caught my eye) I was pleasantly surprised
