The reason Super Monkey Ball actually has been less focused on and plundered a bit is because the creator of Super Monkey Ball actually focused on his more succesful Yakuza series. Im the west, Super Monkey Ball was less successful, and because he was getting a huge promotion in Sega that he did not want.

Yeah buddy!! He originally got into game design as an entry way with an interest in movie directing so it shouldn't have been TOO surprising when he abandoned monkey ball to focus on a more cinematic series.

Gonna be real, this is probably one of the best videos that randomly get in my recommended that I've seen YET. This is top tier content and I forgot that I had God Eater 2 in the background while watching this. The writing of this is FANTASTIC. It does a great job and explaining the story of Super Monkey Ball and it's development cycle so far as a franchise. Specifically mentioning Yakuza being the reason why Nagoshi left as director of Super Monkey Ball, since that's something that a lot of people missed until just recently when it was announced that Yakuza was SEGA's 2nd best selling franchise of this year so far, or something like that (Basically nobody cared about that until 2 years ago and the fact you mention it makes me happy, especially since I love both Super Monkey Ball and Yakuza). Not to mention that the jokes are pretty good. I will not lie, that mention Senran Kagura Peach Ball got me balling out laughing since I have played every single Senran Kagura game except Reflections. (Fun fact, that series is having it's 10 year anniversary this year. Oh joys). The visual presentation is some of the best I've seen on this site period. I love the avatar approach in general, and this is near perfection. The facial expressions match how your voice is presented. The animations done in correlation to the jokes such as the one with Nagoshi not being the director anymore. It is *Muah* Perfection. The effort put into this video is fantastic and I wish I had that amount of motivation to do content myself. The only issue that I have is that the intro bit with the communist thing is a bit too drawn out, but besides that, everything else about this video is amazing. You've earned a new fan within the first like 10 seconds of the video and I can't wait to see more stuff from you. Keep rocking on my dude.

My first experience with Monkey Ball funny enough was Banana Blitz HD, and honestly, that was a good way to introduce née players to the series since it was relatively easy and got progressively harder (although they really should have removed those awful boss battles). I had a good time with that game and was pretty stoked for Banana Mania. I’m just disappointed that the coop and competitive modes for challenge mode were removed, those looked like so much fun and I’m sad I never had a chance to experience it.

Oh i see! Yeah I hear Banana Blitz was actually a lot of peoples first Monkey Ball and I know some people have a certain nostalgia for it so I felt bad shitting on it. I think its fine on its own especially if you hadn't played any of the ealier stuff in the series and come to love the super challenging nature of the series. But yeah I mean all the power to anyone who had fun with it! I could see myself in the same position had it been my first game in the series.

So I guess I'll give you a more fleshed-out critique since you asked for it in the outro. I'll start by saying that you're abilities to write and read scripts are REALLY good, the style of this video is very attractive, I'd keep going with the pixel animations if I were you, it makes you stand out and it's just good branding. The use of music is correct, the thumbnail is good, the fact that you made it before the video tells me that you know what you're doing. I really only have two problems with the video: (1) The outro is too long, and it affects you negatively with the algorithm and (2) your hook in the intro even though it's funny, it's not much of a hook for the rest of the video. You do well for the algorithm outside your videos, but the content could serve it better without affecting it too much, just a good hook in the intro and a short and sweet outro. And then well, I can see jakey and ice cream sandwich in your jokes, nothing bad with that, you need to base yourself off of something to start off and I'm sure you'll be able to express your own personality and humor and differentiate yourself from them in the long run. Yeah I definitely feel the Jakey and IceCreamSandwich coming out in my script a lot, the next video I've got coming out I was conscious of sounding less like Jakey so I think I weeded some of that out but I WASNT aware of how noticeable the IceCreamSandwich influence was and I can totally see it! So thanks! Yeah hopefully as time goes on and I consciously try to sound less like them and more like myself hopefully all that will work itself out. Also! Thanks for the critique on the outro and intro! Thankfully I was aware of the intro being a little TOO off-topic so the next intro joke is gonna be more on-topic (allbeit with some noticeable IceCreamSandwich influence which shit I wish I got this comment sooner lol) BUT I've tried asking about the outro stuff before and no one was willing to tell me if it was going on too long! Letalone letting me know it affected my relevance on the algorithm so that's a huge help!! The way you described the concepts of Super Monkey Ball's mechanics were amazing, especially when it was put into an 8-bit artstyle - I love how you creatively used it to address your points better.
