This case is one of the rare instances where corporations and studios set aside their greed and manipulation and genuinely wanted to honor an actor, a man, in good taste.
@basedboi39562 жыл бұрын
I think this is just one of the very rare cases where corporate interest happened to align with public interest. I mean, them handling Paul’s death in a tasteful and powerful manner helped catapult the film to $1.5B international sales. Corporations never do anything out of the kindness of their heart; they do things for the profit motive, because that’s the core purpose of a corporation- to profit. And in this case, the conclusion happened to be a positive one

I think I remember reading somewhere that Charlie wrote the song for the label but they wanted to give it to another artist to sing. He gave them an ultimatum that either he sang the vocals for the song or they couldn't have it. Then the film cast and crew also wanted Charlie on it so the studio agreed and the rest is history. I think it's a beautiful song for anyone who has lost someone important in their lives. But I think it would be awkward to play that at a wedding. The song is unmistakably connected to a death.

What really hit me hard when I heard about his death was that he was on his way back home after a charity drive for victims of the typhoon Yolanda here in the Philippines. It made me cry a river especially how I grew up watching Fast and Furious and loving every bit of it… RIP to one of my most respectable artists in Hollywood.

I feel like Wiz got all the credit for See You Again, when in reality it wasn’t for Charlie Puth, that song wouldn’t even exist. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good song, but Charlie deserves way more credit, and that’s why I believe this is one of the best videos I’ve seen too date that explains the origins of the track and the franchise of F&F.

I'm tearing up this is so beautiful. You were saying the music video and the movie itself and ultimately the song were all amazing tributes, I agree but this video was also a great tribute to the history of Paul Walker himself and all of the fast movies. Thank you for making this

Tokyo Drift was the best IMO as well. RIP to the times when the F&F were about street racing and we’re still good, and most importantly, RIP Paul Walker. A true legend.

While it had been made and fine tuned for Paul Walker and the Fast and the Furious franchise, the song being open ended just enough to work fine for anyone with their family and friends was excellent. I always watched these movies as a child and teen with my other family members, and hearing about Paul's death hit hard in a way most other celebrities haven't, even back then. See You Again was a dedicated tribute that works great and is flexible for a variety of situations, and probably one pf my favourite songs of all time for the impact it had and meaning it carries on, and even just sounding good as is.
@RayHardman7567 Жыл бұрын
The drive and song doesn't have the full impact if you watch it years later and someone tells you Paul died during filming. First time I watched it, was I think a couple days after I heard of Paul's passing. From the start of the beach scene to the end of the song, I couldn't stop crying. One of the best and most respectful movie endings in cinematic history.

Paul deserves all the recognition on the world. And to be honest, he did get all the recognition. His death affected damn near the whole planet. I’m so glad that he is still being remembered by everyone to this day. And in terms of the song, I’m very glad it was made. Like others have commented, this is the one rare case where a celebrities death isn’t a cash grab. Everything about Paul after his death was an ode.

I agree that Fast3 is the best out of the whole franchise, it truly embodied racing and it beautifully portrayed underground street racing (not as good as Fast4 tho, the choreography of the race in that movie was amazing) It took place in Japan where car tuning truly skyrocketed and drifting was thrown into the plot

The song will ALWAYS remind me of my late dad. He was a late Navy Veteran, and the last months was me and him going out every sunday to restaurants even to go see a movie. The last movie i got to see with my dad was Guardians of the Galaxy VOL.2. I saw my dad rolling away dead, and i was breaking down..and all i can do was to salute him.. I even breaking down trying not to cry typing this.

Yes! He’s had a bit of struggle when it came to finding his sound being launched into global stardom so quickly despite being a famous KZbinr beforehand. He has got his sound nailed now though he says after a seven year journey although I’d argue that consistency began with Attention. Give him a listen especially his prior album VoiceNotes! He is a passionate musical nerd genius who loves 80’s throwbacks in his songs and the guy is so down to earth as a songwriter-producer. New album was a four-five year gap but it has been speculated not come out this year in September. EDIT: His third album, CHARLIE will be out on October 7!

The song also holds something dear to me, not just paul walker. My late best friend passed away over 4 years ago, and he and i were huge gear heads. I had an 86 IROC Z28, while he had an 88 IROC Z28.. and we met cause his IROC. I was gonna buy it, but it fell through.. so he got it. I remember messaging him on myspace (when it was popular) saying i was gonna buy that car, and ever since we became fast friends. We constantly worked on our cars together, drove around and did stupid things in them together, went too car events, raced one another, etc. So much he and i did! Most of my best memories are with him. We definitely had our ups and downs, as we loved each other very much and we're both stubborn as hell. But in the end we always made up. So when i got the news he passed away.. it broke me. I was in my car, and i had to pull over cause i couldn't stop crying. I managed to find a Hot Wheels 3rd gen Camaro that's black with red interior, literally exactly like his. Put his funeral card with the car inside of a protector and have it next to my bed. He will always be by my side till the day i die. And i hope that one day, if there is an afterlife, that him and i can into our 3rd gen Camaros again. God i fucking miss him so much. So the song and its music video hits on me another level.. that's for sure lol

I was already a full grown man who had lost real friends when Paul passed, but i ended up tearing up over it anyhow because i've always loved the movies and especially Paul so much. F&F 1,2,4,5,6 are the five best movies ever made IMO if we don't count 8 Mile. I liked Tokyo Drift as well but it's greatest contribution was Han.
