A shield actually does block all damage from explosions - provided it is angled correctly and raised in plenty of time. I'm pretty sure the modded creepers don't make any difference with that. When you said you were looking for a lawyer, Fwip came to mind for me... He served as Jimmy's lawyer against Joel SmallishBeans on Empires SMP in the Toy Sherriff case. Maybe Jimmy has learned a thing or two about lawyering from being his client, but then, maybe he just learned not to hire Fwip as his lawyer... There is a saying in law: "If the law is on your side, pound the law. If the facts are on your side, pound the facts. If neither is on your side, pound the table." I think Jimmy could do okay with at least one of those things. Have you never been in the deep dark before? It all seemed pretty vanilla to me.

with the pig situation, have you tried checking for pig spawners under the snow? because you are playing modded, the dungeon pack you guys have adds a lot of extra spawners like zombie piglin and strider spawners in the nether (i've played modpacks before which use that same dungeon pack). it is possible that the pig ranch house, has a pig spawner hidden somewhere near it, if there is, it might be best to take advantage of it, like how fwip made an xp farm
