The Death of Sisyphus - Symphonic Poem

Story:
Sisyphus had defied death and as punishment, the gods condemned him to push a boulder up a hill only to watch it roll back down, over and over. Each time he pushed it up, he hummed a melody of solitude and longing, pausing only to breathe. Then, one time, as he watched the boulder roll back down as usual, Sisyphus finally grasped the absurdity of his meaningless existence. Did he feel happiness? He couldn't tell, but he laughed hysterically, while barely alive. In this moment of frailty, he stumbled and fell down the hill, like a fragile children's toy. Though he could have easily saved himself, he didn't bother. Why should he have?

Evocative, emotional and taut. Some very fine expressive music here with it's own distinctive sound, yet within the best tradition of the Romantic symphonic poems. Loved the drama. Very satisfying climax. Well done. New subscriber.
