I fell in love with Janome when I worked at Sears and Sold sewing machines and vacuums. There were a couple of machines made by Janome! Easiest sewing machines I have ever used! That was over 30 years ago , since then all my machines have been JANOME! I used to dream of the 1500. But this M17 has it beat hands down.

I just purchased the M17. The person who sold it to me was very knowledgeable and told me that Kenmore sewing machines way back then were made by Janome. I was surprised because my first sewing machine in the 1970s was a Kenmore and a workhorse that still works. I too, love Janome and I own several and love them all!

It's a combination machine that you can remove the embroidery tray to the left which is great. I am still learning the M7 - going through the M7 Workbook in the Janome Workbook Group and I have a Baby Lock Serger that I am learning to use. For what I will be sewing, I don't need to update now. When I decide to replace my Elan, I may update this machine, depending on the price. What is the price?

Just because the Brother Illuminaire is $19,000 AUD, doesn't mean you have to be more expensive. Sewing machines are way too expensive.

I am a Janome loyal fan. All my machines and i have several are Janome. I'm thrilled with my Janome 9400, my Janome 550e (except for oil access). But I am not sold at all on this new m17 machine. It appears there is no free arm. Could not live without that. I noticed that decorative stitch card with a magnet strip on back of card is provided. Is this how one would select decorative stitch. I must have missed something. You need to push a button to release top cover? You just can't flip it up? Wierd design features, not something I'd expect from Janome. Add in the sticker price of 22,999 and I know I will never want to own this machine. What is the advantage of an embroidery combo sewing machine? Pure freedom is having 2 separate machines. I feel Janome really missed the mark on this machine

is it possible to use two different devices for the Apps. or can only one be used at a time. also, when we set up the apps for the M17 at our store, on our device. How does the customer change it to their device after purchase. Thanks in advance. And we absolutely love you and your videos.

Thank you sew much, Judith! It's best to use one device for all the apps with one machine, but if you had one iPad for example, you might want to have one Android tablet to demo the Apps as well since the CM!7 is compatible with both. Customers will have to change the wireless connection of the machine to their home router IP address and will connect their device to that as well to sync it with the machine. Happy Sewing!

Janome machines are the best, I have two computerized and the long arm with prostitcher program, they are workhorses with seldom any repair problems. Yearly maintenance and you are good to go. Thanks for the heads up on this new machine.

Thank you Michael for the overview of the new Janome Machine (incredible) Would you perhaps know how I can enquire about these machines in South Africa? I have sent several inquiries worldwide and have not received feedback on my inquiries. Sadly we are so limited to entry-level Janome Sewing/ Embroidery Machines, only having options from Elna / Bernina/ Brother and or Husqvarna (these machines are incredible) however after-sales support is lacking and in most instances, after the machine is purchased you can not find parts and thus having to buy a new machine. I have been a Janome Product client since the 1980s and currently own several Janome Sewing Machines as well as Sergers. however, I would like to extend my repertoire to owning (upgrading) Embroidery Machines as well. How or what can I do to enquire about acquiring Janome products such as the M17 Continental as well? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Everyone's budget is different. Many people could never justify paying the price for a MC15000, either, but many, many people did, and that's ok. It'll be the same with this machine. There's a machine at a price point for everyone.

I remember paying $4000 for my Janome 8000 with all the embroidery, and the next year the Janome 9000, the Janome keeps coming out every year with newer models. I no longer like their products. They need to concentrate in making ONE good machine fabulous and keep it around for few years. The Janome 8000 never did work that great, what a waste of money just to be outdate one year later.

HI Renee, I'm sorry you no longer like Janome products, but thank you for watching the video! I'm afraid Janome is just like every other manufacturer in the world. New models of cars are produced every year, as are new models of smart phones, computers, appliances, etc. My favourite operating system of Windows was XP, and here we are on Windows 11! I had the original iPhone, and am already out of date with my Version 11 edition. Technology is often one of the reasons we need to change, so we just have to keep up or get left behind. But I do understand your feeling of one machine after another. I suspect that's likely one reason Janome kept the top of the line MC15000 for an industry record-breaking 8 years! No other successful sewing machine manufacturer has done that! Though the MC15000 is now no longer the official TOL machine, it's still going to be around for many more years to come, just like the MC12000, MC11000, etc. There's still many of those machines in the field even though the model may be officially retired. no need to be quite so negative. This was just a quick overview of the machine in the limited amount of time I had, but, as I explained many times, there will be MORE videos, blog posts, etc on the machine to cover more of its features. There's no way I could do everything in 20 minutes!
