When you listen to him, you understand why the Baltimore Ravens are envied by most of the other organisations.

Sound like EDC is more like look at everything and make the best decision for the organization. Being a fan I love that but I don't know how you get rid of A. Boldin😂
@stevehasler89223 күн бұрын
What stands out to me is two things: Continuity and their emphasis on evaluating people more than players. Owner Steve Bisciotti Has been in place as at least a co-owner from nearly the beginning, like the Rooney family. And importantly, he made his money evaluating and supplying talent to corporate America. Decosta was a small school player who was hired as a grunt, as he describes. It's a badge of honor in the organization. A breeding ground for talent.

@@Nationworld403 that could be true, but also miserably wrong. Player ratings on madden are directly related with their play and reputation. Game creators just don’t give ratings out like that, there’s careful deliberation that occurs to come to those decisions.

Baltimore is heavily driven by analytics, they are one of the franchises that sort of pioneered it like you heard him say they have been doing this since 2013 and they took inspiration from the mlb

I mean its a data point, I'd probably consider madden ratings too, it wouldn't play a huge part.

So smart and focused on building and maintaining an incredible organization and culture. Roles, people, top to bottom mission. When you build that up, it becomes self-propelling. Great draft picks and trades are a result of that foundation.

This is an awesom interview. They did good to get Lamar and I'm sure they're the most happy about it. But it's still pretty wild to me that they were willing to let him be taken by someone else. They saw more value in Haden Hurst than Lamar...it all worked out now. But that's still pretty wild

EDC I love ya but as a Kentucky resident and ravens fan, please don’t say louieville, 😂😂 jokes aside, what a great GM. His mindset on internals, the constant strategies, and attention to detail. People joke every dollar counts, but I take his tactical, economical, and diligent management as, managing like a Raven. I was born in Cincy and have paid attention to their off season moves through my family, you don’t get this everywhere.

@@ojm3724 I didn’t say that. If you remember when Tez caught that TD on the “Harbaugh” play he was stoked and said “he doesn’t have much to do with the offensive playcalling team” watch the clip. They don’t run the organization like that, roles roles roles. I’d be more inclined to say the penalty problems early on were on Harbaugh as a top down thing like you are talking about. But when you say that about EDC in an interview where he makes very clear his function, it makes me think you got mad 2 minutes in and stopped watching. And if we’re on that, Andrews hands top down ? Lamar missed throws this year, several, top down?
