Buddhism died out in it's birthplace for a reason. Buddha was just a good hindu I dare you to show me ONE thing he said that was outside of Hinduism. Only certain theravada concepts like "kshana bhanga vaada" (momentary consciousness theory) is novel. But most Buddhists (mahayana and vajrayana) do NOT believe in it and make fun of it. Because today’s Hinduism is nothing but the synthesized version of Buddhas teaching. If you go back 2000 years or before, there was nothing but the Buddhism. There was no evidence of Sanskrit, there was no evidence of Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma, there was no evidence of Hindu temple or statues, there was no evidence of any sages mentioned by today’s Hinduism. Until Buddha came in India, everyone was looking outward towards someone or something for everything whether it is good or bad. Buddha said there is nothing out there causing us suffering or prosperity. We are responsible for everything. Just follow the evidence. Hinduism of today has zero evidence before 2000 years. No archeological evidence, no linguistic evidence, no artifacts, no textual evidence. Nothing. All you have is claims.

This video is biased in my opinion and hinduphobic in its narrative. While it conveniently calls out the challenges from Hindu/shaivite kings, referring to their religious identity, it calls Islamic invaders as Turkic referring only to their race. The video in its entirety omits any reference to violent Islamic invasions and conversions that followed. It also chooses to skip the destruction of Nalanda which was probably the most critical reason to destruction of Buddhism which was carried out by Muslim invaders with a clear disdain for non-Islamic cultures. As I said, biased and hinduphobic narrative with an intention to divide dharmic cultures and pit them against each other.

Have you read any accounts of Chinese monk, Faxian and Xuanzang who visited India way before Islam? Sounds like you did not. They witnessed the destruction of monasteries and Buddha’s statues in India. Hinduism has good reason to destroy Buddhism because Buddha’s teaching are so rational and practical but they cannot give up the idea of creation, God, soul etc. So Hinduism used Buddhas teaching to validate their idea of creation, God and soul etc.
