The same thing happened with Asus' Tuf line. Before they changed their logo their products were entry level type value, and now it can be said that alot of their products feel more premium. My 4k 170hz Tuf monitor for instance looks incredible. My Tuf 4090 is amazing too. Only issue I have with it being I had to reapply thermal paste because Asus TIM application is hit or miss. After 3 weeks the hotspot hit 97c. I know it isn't based strictly on the tuf series, I had a Strix 4080 that had that issue as well. Never had the issue with MSI. Love my Suprim X 4090.

Got the AS500 plus and by no means it is a bad cooler. Never seen my cpu above 50, plus without being able to hear anything.

Some people may not think much of it but you sir have perfectly demonstrated the importance of compatibility and making sure that all parts fit especially nowadays with how large the motherboard heatsinks can be. @@Mr_Matt_Lee now I have anxiety I'm building something in very similar price point but on AM5 platform, aaaand I can't find any info if Gigabyte B650 AORUS or similar have enough clearance on their vrm heatsinks to accommodate a beefier air cooler like an Assassin IV or AK620. Maybe you know a good B650 board with enough room for a bigger air cooler?

Deepcool are killing it. Clean and powerfull looking. About 7 years ago i had my coolermaster case front laser cut to put in simple square holes like this so i cud fit 2 x 140mm behind it and properly cool a 7940x cpu. Deepcool have build my case. And that cooler is lovely. Watch out Noctua.

Btw that cpu died anyway, contacts burned from pulling 300+watts power. Replaced with 5950x and again with 7950x.

Thank you for another great video mr. Matt Lee. I have not build my first pc yet but I do have plans. Your video's mean a lot to me. The assassin in this video is a true monster. In my search for the components for my first build it is not difficult to find the hight but I can't seem to find the right aircooler dimensions regarding the heatsinks on various motherboards and the ram clearance. By the way, I should stop turning on the subtitles for your video's.

Hi Matt I would like to give you a recommendation friend, you could put the noise section, it would be perfect if you added that in the airflow section or separately, that you handle 2 levels, the first level would be titled "optimizing airflow for silence" speaking with the example that the case is 1 to 1.5 meters away from where you sit, the other level would be like level 2 "Optimized for better temperatures" It is a recommendation dear Matt, so with this we could realize how quiet the system is and how good these fans are in that aspect, as you can see there are many cases that come with fans included, but yes friend, the section on Noise :)

Word to the wise, if you like options for air cooling and still being able to vertical mount the GPU (probably also very dependant on your case and how giant your GPU is) do not get the Assassin IV. It's massive, and will block you GPU vertical mounting. I have the AK-620 Zero Dark and that still works, but Assassin is going back to Amazon. Case: Azza Cast GPU: RTX 4090 FE Also, there are few quirks with the Assassin IV most people don't talk about. First off the wire for the inner most fan is placed awkwardly between the heat pipes and very close to the cooling plate. Reversing the rear fan is stupid since the option to run the wires cleanly back through the shroud isn't a thing...so you now have this cable that has to sit out the rear, which defeats the point if the whole clean aesthetic. But my absolute biggest gripe ...whoever at Deepcool thought the hex screws for the fan screws, was a good idea, should not reproduce. Once you go to tighten the fan back on, the f***ing screws start to strip. This air cooler is an example of looks over applicable function (not cooling wise but actual installation).

I just do some researches for my PC build and saw your video. I just bought deepcool assassin IV VC Vision and I decided to pair it with ROG STRIX X870-A gaming wifi motherboard but haven’t bought it yet. Do you think this cooler compatible with my MOBO? because I saw your MOBO and mine look quite similar and the heatsink dimensions is the same. I am afraid it cannot because of VRAM heatsink. BTW, it is an amazing and educational video.

3x 140mm intakes looks great from the front of that case. Wish the top of the case felt more premium though, with a cover similar to the Meshify 2 compact, instead of yet another magnetic dust cover.
