Good news if you like exploring new rabbit holes, you've just hit a 2 for 1 deal. Besides his solo work Geoff is the bass for the a capella group Voiceplay. Both are completely independent, perform a wide variety of genres, and are IMO amazingly talented. Enjoy the ride.

I million time this!!!!! Geoff and Voiceplay are my favorites of all time and I'm 65 years old. I first watched Geoff's "Ain't No Sunshine" 3 years ago in April. I immediately joined his Patreon (first time joining one). Two weeks later found out he's Bass singer for Voiceplay. Watched their "Dragonborn Comes Skyrim"video. Immediately joined their parents. A month later found out Voiceplay's beatboxer, Layne Stein, is co-owner of Pattycake Productions with former member Tony Wakim. This is where Geoff and Voiceplay film most of their videos..... They also write and film their videos. Geoff.... Song of Durin. Rains of Castemere. Ghost Riders In The Sky. Unshaken (ghosts from Ghost Riders). His very first video solo ... Bare Necessities. Voiceplay.... Classical Chaos. Hide and Seek. Seven Nation Army. Be Prepared. Thriller. Welcome to the Geoff Castellucci and hopefully Voiceplay rabbit holes 🐰🐰

1 second in: 'Is this shit real? Is that his voice?' Grabs popcorn... You just took your first step into 2 glorious rabbit holes at once, as he is the bass of Voiceplay, imho the best aCapella group out there! It is always a real treat to see someone experiencing Geoff or VP for the first time and seeing that sense of wonder on their face. Enjoy the ride, go to their channels and pick whatever song picks your fancy, you won't be disappointed, no matter the genre.

The best thing about this song is that he's singing the whole time in his chest voice. This is literally what he can pull off any day of the week without dipping into subharmonics, thanks to years of practice. He can go up into tenor range, then hit notes a full octave below the lower range expected of a typical bass a moment later! There are bass singers out there who can go lower or hit the same notes with even more power (mad respect to them) but IMO nobody does it with such warmth and richness as Geoff Castellucci. I hope you'll react to more of Geoff's songs! He's also the bass singer and one of the arrangers for the independent acapella group VoicePlay. ALL of those guys are absolute "range monsters" as well as masters of their own preferred / main voice types. They cover everything from gaming songs to sea shanties, from Disney to Metallica and anything in between. Songs that make you want to kick ass, songs that tug at your heart, songs that make you laugh yourself silly. Their beatboxer (and other arranger, as well as co-owner of their studio) will blow your mind with his skills. Their tenor is an absolute rock god and also in charge of the lighting and Unreal Engine backgrounds. The Baritone-Tenor has all the sass, can sing like an angel, or turn into a viking berserker at will. And their former members and featured guests are all amazing in their own way.

Geoff has talked about learning to sing tenor - and having learned to hit the notes - then learning to make it sound good. He's said he'd do 70 or more recordings and toss them all, start over the next day. Learning to SOUND good. People TALK about practice and hard work, but few will push themselves day after day. Instead they are satisfied and think hitting the note is 'good enough.' Geoff does the work. I'm guessing he worked equally hard on his lower range. Everything he does is extraordinary - and the same for his partners in VoicePlay. Every one of them is both talented and hard working, and it shows. You are going to have a lot of fun!

It's always fun watching people freak out over Geoff's voice and how deep it is well before he's even trying. Then of course he drops an octave down and the jaws hit the floor hard enough to echo. the he drops again........

Not only is this real, this is Geoff not even breaking a sweat. He can extend both deeper and higher; his full range is in the neighborhood of 5 octaves. And for context, a full sized piano keyboard is 7 octaves. For what it's worth, he does have a pretty low speaking voice- he does an outro on his more recent releases, and often on VoicePlay videos as well (that's the a cappella group with whom he sings bass).

Yes it's real. He is actually using his regular speaking voice for most of the song. He is also doing all the vocals so yeah, he has insane range.

Welcome to Geoff Castellucci Rabbit Hole and hopefully the equally awesome Voiceplay Rabbit Hole. Both are filled with fun times and epic performances. Like others have said thus was just a comfortable range for Geoff. A little more info about Geoff is he out of Orlando Florida, he arranges, performs (including any and all musical instruments), edits, and directs his videos by himself with help from his production manager aka his wife. He does get help when he needs in depth makeup, help with lighting, an additional camera man (like for a steady cam), and final editing. Looking forward to your journey down the Rabbit Holes

Honestly, where he is singing most of the song at is pretty normal for a bass singer... he just hits you with some lower than average notes for a bass. On-mic, many choral basses should be able to hit these notes. But, this is him just hanging out in his comfort zone, too. He can go much, much, much deeper than anything you heard in this song. But, he can also go much, much higher than anything you heard in this song, too. I recommend you check out his cover of "I See Fire". And, yes, you pronounced his name perfect, by the way.

This isn't even low for Geoff. He has a 5-octave range and is constantly working to improve his craft. Yes, he harmonizes with himself via clones. Try Voiceplay's "Valhalla Calling" or Geoff's cover of "Carol Of The Bells" if you want REAL low. 😁

Lmao, yup, that 💩is real. I’ve heard him sing live - he vibrated by entire rib cage. He did runs that literally shook my spine. First singer I ever listened to with my skeleton. Yup, all the voices are him here. Yup, his range is insane and smooth as velvet the whole way. As others said, aside from like two or three places, he’s not even trying here. This is pretty much where he speaks.

I love watching someone discover Geoff Castellucci for the first time. He is amazing and has a 5-octave range. He is the bass singer for VoicePlay (an acapella group). He does add music to his songs on his own channel. Geoff & VoicePlay are independent artist. You are amazed at what he sings here, but he can go even lower. And as you saw here, he often 'clones' himself in his videos. I have subscribed for more Geoff reactions and hopefully VoicePlay reactions. for Geoff, I would recommend: "Jack's Lament", "Unshaken", "Ain't No Sunshine", "Sound of Silence", "Carol of the Bells" and he has a LOTR/Hobbit trilogy ("Far Over The Misty Mountains Cold", "I See Fire" & "Song of Durin"). For VoicePlay (known as the "theater kids" of acapella), I would recommend: "Nothing Else Matters", "Be Prepared", "Hoist the Colors", "Seven Nation Army" and my favorite "Valhalla Calling" where Geoff hits a B0. No matter what you choose, you won't go wrong. Enjoy the rabbit hole.

I'm so glad you decided to check out Geoff Castellucci. You're right -- he has a uniquely smooth, rich voice in all his registers, super low to high. He doesn't have a bad song, in my opinion. Check out his channel, or that of his a cappella group VoicePlay, and select anything that strikes your fancy. You'll have a fun listen! Thanks again. I hope you react to more. Cheers!

Just as history: This was made famous by Tennessee Ernie Ford. A very well known in the day and hugely popular bass singer. I was a page in the Tn General Assembly in the late 60s and he came and sang this acapella for the opening session. The senate came to the house and the galleries were packed. The snapping fingers was the only accompaniment. About half way through, without missing a beat, he looks up into the gallery and says "Lady, it works better if you take off your gloves." and continued singing. Just an unknown moment in time.

If you become a fan of Geoff's you will then need to check out his group VoicePlay that he is a founding member of. #TheatreKidsOfAcapella. They cover everything from Metallica to Disney. In their cover of Valhalla Calling Geoff hits and sustains a B-0 for 15 seconds. Amazing.

My dude you have not heard even the half of what he can do. You should totally check out his Hobbit trilogy Over the Misty Mountains Cold, I See Fire, and the song of Durin in that order because they are sequels. Don't mess around with Jim House of the Rising Sun and Big Iron are absolutely incredible. And that's not actually going into the band that he is a part of which is voiceplay which is another Rabbit Hole my dude. For voiceplay: I would recommend their cover of Nothing Else Matters Carry On Wayward Son, hoist the colors, drunken sailor, my mother told me and Valhalla calling (valhalla calling is the sequel to my mother told me) and that is just the start. The best thing about this group is that you get immersed in whatever song they're singing. They just suck you in you get lost and you're in the vibe. Welcome to the rabbit hole my dude

You said his name perfectly. You will know him after this. The first KZbin music I heard was this man doing the Monster Mash at Halloween. I had much the same reaction as you. Geoff's range is 5 octaves: A0 (growl), B0 (subharmonics), F1 (full chest), B4 (he sometimes is full chest and others as mix), highest note is Bb5. He is prt of VoicePlay the best acapella group around - he doesn't do acapella for his solos just saves that for VoicePlay. A selection of some of his (all are superb): 3 from Tolkien - Far Over the Misty Mountain Cold, I See Fire (both of those were from the Hobbit films), Song of Durin (from Lord of the Rings), Carol of the Bells - epic, Sound of Silence, Wicked Game, Imagine, Don't Mess Around With Jim, Ghost Riders in the Sky, Unshaken, Way Down, Till Then, Folsom Prison Blues, Man of Constant Sorrow, Shenandoah, Blackbird, Big Bad John, High and Dry, with lots more just Geoff. Don't leave out VoicePlay: Nothing Else Matters (Metallica), In the Air Tonight (Phil Collins), Creep (Radiohead), Valhalla Calling (Miracle of Sound), Hoist the Colours (Pirates of the Caribbean), Drunken Sailor, Dragonborn Comes Skyrim, Tennessee Whiskey (Chris Stapleton), I Can't Make You Love Me (Bonnie Raitt) will get you a start.

Congratulations sweetie, you've just been Geoff-quaked!! 😁 It's the term fans use for the first time someone (especially a reactor) is exposed to Geoff's base notes. 😜 To be honest, this one is... Well, maybe not 'tame' (you'll learn that Geoff hasn't made a bad video too date), but he wasn't really pushing it in the slightest. He can go MUCH lower (from what I understand, down to like the 3rd white key from the end of a piano?), but every now and then he'll sneak in borderline rock-scream high note as a 'gentle reminder' that he can go all the way up there if he wants to. 🤣

B0 (Geoff's lowest in "Valhalla Calling" where he sustains B0s at three points in the song) is the second white key on a full piano keyboard. In "Enemy," he growled a brief A0 (first white key). So, Geoffrey is almost off of the keyboard.

This song was written in 1946 by Merle Travis about a coal miner. I know it best by Tennessee Earnie Ford's 1955 version. Geoff is the bass singer from the a cappella group VoicePlay. That group is good friends with another great group called Home Free. Their bass singer, Tim Foust, also has solo videos out. They all sound wonderful. If you really like deep bass voice check out the group called The Bass Gang, four very talented guys from 3 different parts of the world (Europe, Africa, and 2 from the US) with amazing vocal ranges and heart stopping bass voices. They been doing a lot of videos lately with a guy called Big Brev who will totally amaze you.
