i think a lot of toby's music is based on very memorable melodies, and theyre usually quite easy to take apart when listening to them - also - i do give myself help before doing each track - i do a play through of the whole song before i set to recreating it and i also get info such as the tempo, and the time signatures, and the soundfonts used from a huge spreadsheet - though to keep up the spirit of doing it all from memory, i read them all then try to add them all to the project without copying them out (which is horrible for large tracks but okay-ish for smaller ones) - also ive listened to this soundtrack A LOT. 😭i know a few tracks on piano so melodies and chords are usually down first with a midi controller then fit to the sequencer, then all the instrumentation and mixing is done, then once ive finished all the tracks, i delete the project files, and download the most accurate recreations i can find for all the tracks, then ill look over it, see where ive made mistakes, compare them and try and learn from it!! its a pretty rough process, but ive learnt a lot about tobys methods and i feel like the track qualities have improved a lot since i did the first one of these because of that

@@oniflora Editor on the spreadsheet here, if you're using the most up-to-date one it would be very appreciated for you to credit it by linking it for example, a lot of time and effort goes into finding and documenting specific instruments and sounds for Toby's music, so just linking to it is the least that anyone can do :)
