I just got done watching some of the channel "Abide in the Word" and man that channel had my blood boiling. Teachers like him teach strictly law constantly quoting the Sermon on the Mt, Sermon on the Plain, and taking verses out of context. I say all that to say, this channel is a breath of fresh air!

Oh, believe me. In my early twenties , thirty-nine years ago, I thought I was righteous. I looked down on a prostitute. Sometime after that God showed me exactly how sinful I could be for 35 years, until He left the 99 and found me and carried me back to the fold. I had so much pride in my faith. I am so thankful that He humbled me. Praise God. I now understand that I am saved by grace alone. Nothing I can do will earn me salvation. Only through the blood of Christ. The good works that He prepared for me from before time began will be brought about by the Irresistible work of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has changed me in ways I never felt possible. Never judge others by the standard that God judges us because you must allow the Holy Spirit to change you. The work is never done until the end when our bodies will be glorified and we will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

How do we criticize those who The Spirit has not opened the eyes of? The rich young ruler, those incorrectly preaching the Gospel, every human on earth is dying of thirst and starving; is the water and food an offering or are we force feeding some and not others? How do we even begin to correct or critique if it is beyond their control and is just their destiny? I keep finding myself wanting to follow reformed theology but when I follow the logic, it makes me dizzy. Other than that, I still love what y'all have helped me realize over and over again about avoiding legalistic teachings.

Spot on comment about the "lazy Christian" and the unconverted! So many of God's saints are deprived the _good_ news because others are fakes and frauds. Also, it is true, the entailments of the gospel (obedience, prayer, holiness) are not the gospel.

Is it fair to say that WITH RESPECT TO SALVATION the Gospel has no demands, but WITH RESPECT TO GROWTH IN CHRIST there are demands (which are actually supplied by the Gospel)? For example, one is simply not going to develop in Christ ("My little children for whom I labor in birth pangs again until Christ is formed in you" Gal 5) indulging in an adulterous affair (GROWTH). But they are saved, yet so as through fire (1 Cor 3 ... SALVATION). Their must be an abandonment of that if growth is going to take place (DEMAND). The mediation of Christ (SUPPLY) is available to do that. What say ye?
