I've always seen splash-damage towers in TDS (as well as literally every other tower defense game out there) have their main purpose being dealing with enemies that are slow, tanky, and spawn in compact groups (Giant Boss, Moltens, Heavys, etc.). I don't think Demoman is not that bad at all on paper, but since the wave layouts in all non-"special" modes haven't been changed since around 2020 excluding beta enemies, Its very hard to utilze Demoman's strengths. On top of that, More recent events like Spring/Christmas 2022 have enemies that are very spread out.

I realised that you additioned the AIM TIME and the firerate, which is not the case. His dps is only "dmg / firerate" and not "dmg / ( firerate + aim time )"

It should be a decent starter tower for MOLTEN and it should struggle in fallen. it’s normally the 2nd or 3rd tower people get, and should solo up until the first boss in molten. I think the tower reworks are strange, there are 2 types of towers, early game and late game towers. Take an early game tower like ace, gscout or gSoldier, and a late game tower like accel/gmini ^ (engi is just worse now and there’s no reason to use it in fallen) I’m personally fine with the demo man rework, it’s a tower that’s made for molten.

tds team is also stupid, like engi has 0 uses besides hitting leads and flying enemies, and even in those categories its outclassed by other towers, engi was nerfed for no reason when it was already so weak with its unbuffable turrets and near dps but low placement compared to accel, and they dont decrease its price or buff it, they nerf it when it was already trash

@@saulgoodman9449 engineer needs a buff BADLY, engineer was added, accel was nerfed, engineer was nerfed and accel was buffed, the crazy thing is, engineer is such an easy fix, engineer needs 4 sentries, and for the sentries to be affected by dj/commander. if we don’t do that, we gotta nerf accel again. Engineer is so much worse than accel rn.

@@Bushables tbh if they nerf accel, every single hardcore tower gonna get outclassed by an mortar/pursuit. And there is no point anymore to do hardcore if that idea happen. What they actually need to do is bassically make accel more expensive and enginner cheaper. Accel cost : 4,2K gems While enginner is 2,6K gems. That the best thing to do.

I feel like to buff the engineer they should make buffs on units like commander giving the sentries buff but 30% less than towers let's say the only buff is 25%. Other units like elf, milbase, and crooks will get the buff when they enter the range of commander same goes for Dj too! the reason I think the buff they should get is 30% less is because it would be too OP if they receive the maximum buff of commander and dj! if the devs made this feature I can totally see engineer being the most OP tower.

I think the demo was always supposed to be mid because its a starter tower and is okay for its cost (store) while also introducing splash damage to new players.( We don't talk abt paintballer)

Imagine if he gets 3 grenades at the start of a wave and a grenade gets more damage and splash radius but he only uses it if the enemies get through 50% of his range it would at least make the demoman good for enemies that go a bit too far

Me who uses him in early game: But yeah I would say to best use the Demo in fairly roundish paths, which maximizes his range. I use him now instead of cowboy soloing Molten, Idk about Fallen though. If you solo, you can quickly get to level 3 if you chose the right map and placement. Plus, funny TF2 reference is also a good reason to use it, which I think they did alright (IM STILL WAITING FOR TF2 PYRO MAN PLEASE I BEG OF YOU), If you want my loadout that I use to solo Molten, its farm, accel, demo, dj, and Warden. The tower is like he said, good for mid game but with the proper map, I say it can easily be good for early game. This is from a solo perspective so I don't know what to expect with more players.

demoman isnt supposed to be that good, also it wasnt that mediocre after the buff, for a beginner tower it could speedrun and handle early waves on all 3 gamemodes fairly well, it got slightly nerfed in early game but it still works on molten, which is what beginners are meant to play

Remember, Demoman is a RANK ZERO tower, like what john boblox said, I dont expect any player with g scout or accel to bring demoman unless theyre doing some sort of chalenge.
