He's not going to be the primary ball handler to start out in DC with Wall and Beal and even Cassius but he's going to have to be able to knock down shots and play some defense. Little interesting because Troy Brown, Rui, Bertans, and Thomas Bryant are kind of all the same position, more so for TBJ bc i feel deni and him have redundant skill sets so TBJ might get traded.

@@oror3751 In the Euro League, yes, he's 14/20 in his entire career (2/2 and 12/18 in two seasons), so we can dismiss those number. On the other hand, in Israel this season he was 50/86 from the line in 28 games (averaging 3.07 a game) which is not exactly a tiny sample size. For a comparison, Tyler Herro went 87/100 this season and that was spread over a lot more games. Andre Drummand and Dwight Howard were the only players in the league who averaged 3+ FTs a game and were that bad from the line at 57.5% and 51.5% respectively. Hell, even DeAndre Jordan shot 68% from the line this year! There's no way even a decent shooter should be be under 60% in 28 games which is a decent enough of a sample size for shooters. Because the scouts and the GMs are looking into what these players might be 2-3 years down the line. Lol, Jalen Brunson probably is the best PG in college his senior year but he only got drafted in the 2nd round. Same with JJ Redick back then, the best college player but but got drafted late lottery. But it also have it's downsides like the reason why Thabeet is drafted 2nd in 09 because these scouts thinks he would improve his game once he hits the NBA.

Cause Kobe really changed the draft process. Teams don't look at guys who can come in and compete after good years in college/overseas like Bird, Jordan or Magic, they pick guys who have potential to get there, like Ja and Ingram. The good players are looking to get paid earlier and teams would rather develop them on the highest level instead of getting comfortable killing lesser competition and ending up with a guy like Jimmer Freddette, who kills it in every league not named the NBA

I like how there is like a 1 min long segment about his effort on the vid. Only in this year’s draft is effort such a big positive (in terms of the top players seeming to have little effort which means that anyone with it has like Jordan’s competitiveness)

I think he has all star potential..he's still gotta fill his frame a bit..if he works on his ball handling and shooting, he should be a major problem..plus he was on a championship team and he was still incorporated in his fair share of offense..I like his speed, and if he learns to control his feet a little better, he has all star potential..I know I like him better than obi toppin who went 8th

He is nice, but he will be a role player in the nba And that isnt bad at all imo
@DragonsFrogs3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I agree, and there’s nothing wrong with that. An average to above average starter should be picked in the 4-10 range which is where he will go.

@@DragonsFrogs No when drafting you're supposed to be drafting for superstar POTENTIAL in the top 5. 5-10 at least star and 10-32 is when you at least hope for a starter. I don't want my bulls drafting a couple time Allstar, high end role player that I think Deni will be. This class is just to uncertain that he's propped up to the top. Last year he would've went 10-15.

As an Israeli I appreciate this video a lot. Deni is the real deal. As a player hes been special for a long time. Maccabi has a really good player development system, they have been working him A LOT since, well, forever. As a person hes really down to earth and relatable. I don't know him personally and in my opinion the NBA is going to enjoy him, on and off the court.

I think Deni will be someone like Danilo Gallinari but with way better playmaking skills and worse shooting

So racist….. at least stereotype. have you seen how fast this dude is? His nickname is Turbo now. His mom was an Olympic sprint and his dad was a pretty athletic pro baller. He might low key be the fastest guy in the NBA. Oooooohhhhh but you wouldn’t consider him fast twitch. He’s the definition of fast twitch. AND! at 6’10” a 35 in vertical is Very impressive. Im surprised you didn’t say he was “sneaky athletic” 😒

Idk why. But his game reminds me of Loki from the avengers lol. No superpower. But is proficient. Smart. Deceiving play. Even his off ball ability and how he uses his screeners to get open and uses the opposing defensive players as screeners, just seems like a Loki kind of thing. Little nuances like swinging generating power to swing his leg around when doing a post spin. Stuff like that lol

I honestly think he’s the best PROSPECT in this draft, but not by a wide margin. He intrigues in so many areas, but scares in a few others, and while his weaknesses are concerning, they are in no way unfixable, and I think he will end up fixing them.
