Bro I love your reviews because you don’t go into too much technical details and judge movies on what you see on screen and I do the same unlike some so called tech nerds who watch every frame with a microscope and write bit rates and nits on paper.

I'm picking up The Departed in the steelbook. I only get steelbooks when I really like the movie or it's a great deal. I also commonly buy a regular 4k and put it in my BD steelbook. Was able to pickup The Departed steelbook in the buy 2 get 1 free movies Target sale with Once Upon a Time in the West 4K and 12 Monkeys 4K (Arrow 4k v2).

Just finished watching it, and I'm super pleased with it. I wasn't expecting much, but I'm super impressed with what they did with the transfer. A nice upgrade from the super soft VC-1 blu-ray. Sound gets a nice uptick aswell.

If you liked the Departed you should watch the original from Hong Kong - Infernal Affairs. Andy Lau handed the film to Scorsese for a Hollywood remake. It’s a great film but in subtitles (don’t watch the dubbed, always better in original language).

The Departed is looking great. This was a title I preordered immediately so glad to see it is holding up. I am excited for the upcoming ultra-affordable 4K titles being released in the cheap DVD combos (including another Scorcese - Shutter Island)

I wish in new 4K releases they would still put the standard Blu-Ray Disc. In case you want to take it somewhere else to watch it that just has a standard Blu-Ray Player.

You're just barely getting into Steelbooks ❓ You've missed out on a lot of good ones. 🤓 It's ok like you I only recently started putting my Steelbooks in a plastic sealed case. I do wonder however if this will make my copies hotter in the summer time.
