Intro - Surah Ale Imran, Verse 185:
لُّ نَفْسٍ ذَائِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ ۗ وَإِنَّمَا تُوَفَّوْنَ أُجُورَكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۖ فَمَنْ زُحْزِحَ عَنِ النَّارِ وَأُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ فَقَدْ فَازَ ۗ وَمَا الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا مَتَاعُ الْغُرُورِ
Translation:
Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full] compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So he who is drawn away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has attained [his desire]. And what is the life of this world except the delusion of enjoyment.

The reality is that what we desire now in Jannah is based on our limited minds that are chained and shackled by the deceptions, delusions and corrupted inclinations of this world. We must also realise that before entering Jannah we will go through a process of cleansing our hearts of all the dirt it accumulated throughout our lives in this world. Therefore what we think we desire right now in Jannah will be very different to what we will actually desire once we enter Jannah insha'Allah. This is because we will be our true selves without evil and corrupted inclinations and desires. We will have clean and pure hearts and souls.

I saw this netflix documentary of a serial killer who tortured kittens and that made me so angry and I thought " If i make it to Jannah, one of the things i want to wish for is to have any animal that was tortured and abused by a human to be resurrected to enjoy Jannah but alhamdulilah , this video cleared up some misconceptions I may have had.

Another way to look at why you can't have children in Jannah is that we will be their for eternity. If our children end up having children for eternity then their will be no space left in Jannah to place them since Jannah is a finite space.

For me, the most logical point of why we couldn’t have children in Jannah is that these children never worked for Jannah and didn’t have to be tested or living in a former life with trials and tribulations like us. Even if it’s what we wanted in Jannah, how would it work?They’ll be given privileges or pleasures that we had to work for, or they won’t be given the same privileges as us? And if they’re created for people in higher ranks than others that’s not fair. Someone who was tested in the Dunya would be in a lower rank than some children born in Jannah who were given to a higher ranked couple and enjoying a higher rank they didn’t work for. And others will have to be punished in hell while a child born in Jannah is spared that test. Jannah is only for those who worked for it, one way or another, nobody gets a free ticket. But we enter through the Rahma of Allah. Even if we’re made to not feel jealousy, it doesn’t sound just if we’re talking about it from a logical standpoint in this life. Everything prepared in Jannah for humans are based off our good deeds, why would these children get to enjoy the paradise we had to work so hard for? It doesn’t sound right. But I may be wrong, Allah knows best.

Salute to Ibn Qayyim's analysis on possible giving birth to children in Jannah. MashaAllah, such a great thinker and analyst. I do not find his analysis air-tight though, especially when there is a clear good hadith otherwise. It appears sex in Jannah will not necessarily be to procreate by default, but for the joy of pure halal sex alone, period. But few, if any that will want to have parenting experience will not be disappointed either, and for this, we do not need to have menstrual periods etc.in Jannah for sure. Nor do we have to give up the notion of sex fluids, as they add to the joy in sex, no? Nor do we have to worry about space, infinity stuffs etc. Allah knows best as the scholar-teacher Ibn Qayiim teaches us, and the talk is awesome. JazakAlkah.

I agree with you. We respect ibn e qayam but don’t have to agree with everything he says. It seems the default is no children but if someone wants children then they will be given children. The central point however, is that it’s a place of eternal bliss and happiness and Allah saw takes responsibility for this, so whether there are children or not for people doesn’t matter that much. It’s more of an interesting question and knowledge and not about any lack of happiness if we can’t have children.

I think both hadith at 27:00 mean two different things, one if he desires pregnancy he will get it however the otther hadith is saying by default when you do the act they wont get pregnant no matter what unless they desire it.

Yes, this is a good way to reconcile the two Hadith. A childless couple in the Dunya made duaa for children and maybe Allah's test for them was not to have any children. How can you say they would not have this halal desire and duaa which Allah would not oblige?

CANNOT agree with about fish liver explanation, we know the food and test will very different. and it is the name just similar. and also matter of fact this is the first food in Jannah like welcome food or you can say starter. Rasul Allah (saw) didn't indicate this food will be everyday food. I think whatever we doesn't like or cannot understand need to go explanation if it is not necessary. when Rasul Allah (saw) said something we need to follow straight way and believe in it. yes if situation is complicated then we should go for our pious ancestors explanation and current time scholars explanation. and if some hadith or Quranic aya seems to contradict with knowledge of dunia may need to go deep down. otherwise for every matter trying to bring own explanation is not something good.
