The Desert Swarm -

One of the best defensive football teams of the early-to-mid 90s was the University of Arizona Wildcats. Led by Coach Dick Tomey and College Football Hall of Fame members, Rob Waldrop and Tedy Bruschi, the Wildcats played a tough, hard-nosed style of football, spearheaded by a tenacious defense, known as the “Desert Swarm”.

I remember being at Arizona stadium begging teams to try and go for it on 4th and inches, that was the most fun I ever had watching any football team. Brandon Sanders was NY favorite player and on offense Richard Dice was a Beast!

Those were my years at UofA. Tommy was an up and down coach. The offense was never great. Ok. but fairly average. Tommy liked to run up the middle, it usually didn't gain many yards. The QB before Chuck Levy was moved there could throw with either hand. It was fun. They had their shots. Friends and I went to Tempe for Brewski's last game. Arizona won. It was a lot of fun. Bear Down.
