Welcome back to Conrad Stevenson's Paranormal P.I.! The developer just did ANOTHER update for this game. This is the 4th update within 1-2 months... This developer is INSANE. And in this update they added another new ghost and this is probably my favorite ghost yet. I love the ghost model of this one and the location is super creepy! I hope you enjoy! The ghost is clearly an older man from a time period similar to the Angel in the mausoleum. As a gravedigger he earned very little money, which is evident by the tiny cabin, outdated appliances, and the fact that there is an adult bed for two (him and his wife) plus a cot set up for a child. Given his poverty, I think Mr. Segerstein is deeply attached to the property, the one big thing he ever truly owned. So when you, a new person, come strolling onto his land he reacts with defensive hostility declaring "This is mine! Not yours!" feeling that land that he owned is being taken from him, which he has undoubtedly experienced multiple times as the years went by. PS. I have studied mortuary science in college! If you have a questions about the process of tending to the dead from start to grave, I'm happy to answer! Consider me your... Mortuary Assistant! Eh? Ehhh?

took so many words outta my mouth here, the only thing id add is that maybe hes the first victim(ive been watching the playlist and building this theory that theres an entire overarching story of the town and how everyone in it met their demise, sort by new on previous vids on this map and youll find them) to whatever demon haunted this place, hes depicted walking out into the open with his lantern meaning whatever threat hung over them must have been unheard of, cause if they had knoledge off it its safe to say they wouldve either stayed hidden or outright left town, which they obviously didnt do

@@fnafmasterof coming to these vids a year later (after I finally played through the game myself) and the story is that the Segerstein family were hired as groundskeepers/caretakers. The gravedigger is a separate ghost. Eventually, the church decided to use a landscaping service rather than keep the Segersteins on and basically kicked them out. He then made some money by taking people on our tours through the houses and lands where he used to live. So he got bitter. I think there were also some family traumas involved as well. So now he haunts the site of the old home he was kicked out of by the church.

So my take on this ghost is; The groundskeeper died alone, in his house, and with time the new groundskeeper took over the house and started using his stuff. The OG groundskeeper doesn't realise he died, and only sees someone else invading his space. He gets frustrated about that and keeps on saying "this is mine, not yours!", talking about his belongings that still lay there

47:20 I think the ghost said his name was "Nate" which is a common nickname for Nathaniel. Since he is an intelligent ghost that reacts to the world and the MC the line "This is mine not yours" could be him trying to scare away any living people that are thinking of moving into his cabin. Sort of like "I don't care if I'm dead this is still MY home" kind of thing.

i would love to see more non-verbal/non-linguistic responses to the EVP questions, such as sobbing, heavy breathing, laughter, or appearing as an apparition and staring at the player, etc... would for sure add a lot of creepiness to them. imagine asking a demon "why are you here" and it just laughs at you through the EVP, or asking "how many people are here" and the ghost appears in front of you

I do think the ball of light was his lantern light. After watching it back, the ball was at the same height as the ghost holds his lantern and moved at the same walking pace in a line without going up and down as a ghost orb typically does. The wonder of hindsight and the ability to rewind, I guess. That aside, always look forward to videos of Conrad Stevenson's from you, Insym. I exist on a budget so I have to pick and choose what games to pick up so I live this game through you and your plays of it. It's a super gem and I will definitely support the developer sometime when I have the money, even if it's to gift the game to someone else since I'd have seen a lot already by that point.

I mentioned this in the vod comments, but I’ll add it here too-if you think of the lore of various sources, it might take more energy to fully manifest, and his feet phasing in and out add to this. So he might just manifest as a were light of his lantern sometimes. Or you were too close and interrupted his spawning

I think the ball of light is supposed to represent the lantern. A common trope of ghosts is someone who uses a lantern (like a groundskeeper or a railroad brakeman) dying on the job, so when they manifest, it's just their lantern, illuminating the area to keep others safe.

It'd be cool if there was a pair of ghosts, maybe siblings or a couple, except one of them is an intelligent ghost and the other is a residual, but the intelligent ghost actually shows up to try follow and interact with the residual ghost, only turning to look at the player when the residual ghost vanishes.

What they should do for the readings: have the player manually hold down the action key when they want to "read" the readings. That way it feels less random and more like the player can actually miss readings if they aren't paying attention.

I think the line 'This is not yours' only happen when the ghost sees you before disappearing, like the shadow in the graveyard (You are not supposed to be here) so maybe at the beginning he showed up and he was just behind you several times!

This is seriously the best ghost investigation game at this moment, the interactions and events are so real! As someone who’s experienced many paranormal stuff in life and although i hate to compare, this is wayyyy better and realistic than other games such as Phas and Exile.

Sometimes spirits take the form of an orb. So, it wouldn't be surprising to not see this in the game, but most the time you'll see them on cameras, and if by chance with your own eyes. This one they shown in this looks similar to a Wil - o - Wisp

I hope they add a camera system to the game, as you mentioned the ghosts will do stuff even when you are not around, so having a few cameras to place in different spots would be great for trying to catch a few ghost evidence in 1 run.

Would be cool if the ghosts required energy to show them selves, so if your just running around the chance of seeing a ghost is small, but if you do your research and then hunker down and look in the right area they will take power from your tools, eg. drain camera battery etc. which will give them energy to do more.

If people are interested, there is an old anime with a similar premise of investigating paranormal activity. It’s not always ghosts. It’s called Ghost Hunt, it’s only one season and can be watched in parts.

Property developers for the church. His family passed the property down, but there was never a deed in his name. It got sold to develop the graveyard for the church, but he refused to move. People showed up to tell him to leave, likely police. He ended up drawing a gun (crazy old man with a shotgun seems very likely given the period clothing and the forest) and got shot for refusing to leave. Church chose not to build over it afterward and instead tried to use it for the groundskeeper. He is now haunting it as people who he doesn't know continue to try and use the home he died for as a place to stay- only angering the ghost further.

Love this game! Though, I hope the demon cannot kill you. In demon possession cases, there are normally no deaths, never deaths of the ghost hunters anyways. Maybe the possessed person will get ill or commit s, but it’s rare. Demons thrive on negative emotions and latch onto one person. So they feed on the one person for as long as they can.

I don't like the idea of any ghost (including the demon) being able to kill you in this game. I just don't think it fits the tone or atmosphere at all. The game is at its best when it manages to build suspense and tension enough to spook you even though you know it won't actually hurt you.

I mean irl if you were visiting a haunted house the ghost appropriates for whatever reason, it would be logical for it to try to chase you off. ghosts can be friendly, neutral or hostile. the last category would normally be inclined to hurt you, so why not have a couple of those in here, but i mean again you don't have to do it the phasmy way with hiding, smudging, etc.

@@TheZombifiedGuy well if the player is really dumb like jumping into the ghost's arms then why not? but there was an axe on that set, a ghost could actually throw it at the player or manifest itself invisibly waving the axe at conrad. that would be so cool to keep players awake. it could be short like 5-10 seconds, doesn't have to be like hunts in phasmo. but still would add so many to hostile ghosts. friendly ghosts, like children, on the other hand can throw balls near conrad to incite him to play with them etc.

I get why, but also, a little bit of a shame they seem to have removed the chime sound effect you used to get when a ghost interaction was near. It makes the game more immersive, but it also helped you know you were in the right area and not spend aeons on a map looking for something that wasn't there.

Regarding your question about 38 minutes in: I think what the dev is going for is that the ghost may understand its current predicament, and is expressing frustration with strangers (whether those are the new tenants or you) coming around and messing with his stuff.

Ghosts don't kill people in real life sure (not during investigations at least), but there *are* certain investigations were the ghost/demon is so aggressive, that it forces investigators to go home packing. I wish there was a similar mechanic included in this game, because the complete lack of any danger or consequence kills the horror for me :/ Still an interesting game though, i have to admit

For a game suggestion Insym, there is a fun home invasion game that has a FNAF kind of feel that you should try is called "Stranger". Simple in concept but builds tension really well and can be played in VR or normal. Worth checking out maybe.

@Insym my theory on this ghost is that the ghost lived in this cabin a long time ago, living a normal life as a gravedigger for the church. the phrase "this is mine not yours" may be a phrase to a trespasser who wanted to take over the property but died to being kidnapped and starvation. now that he is dead his ghost walks around the cabin, protecting his home from anyone who sets foot on his property.

I think the church rectory as some point just came to tell him his services no longer needed, and had him die out of a heart attack or something when they tried to evict him from his cabin. he seems oddly territorial

@@stanislavkorolev1803 i do think that the reverend has a different story than the gravedigger. the lost reverend died of natural causes in the mausoleum when he was lighting/blowing out the candles, since his job is unfinished, he walks around lighting candles/blowing them out in a loop as his unfinished work

Theory: “this is mine not yours” is a bit of a childish response, but the man is an adult. This coupled with the fact that it’s his only line makes me think he may be neurodivergent, hence why he’s a gravedigger. It’s a straightforward job with a repetitive motion which is a great job for someone with a non-typical brain because there’s a schedule and rarely anything happens that forces you to change, and for people of a neurodivergent nature, routine is incredibly important. This is all speculation and personal experience coupled with some research though, but I thought it was an interesting take.

i don't know about ghosts not killing probably just not common. In Australia where i live we have a haunted prison on a island state called port Arthur and ive been smacked in the back hard by something there it left a red mark for days so i reckon if they wanted to they could kill.

The "Ghost Orb" was, at least imo, the guy spawning inside of the cabin with his arm through the cabin. As the character shouldn't clip through the wall there is no model, but dev might've missed the light not clipping through the wall. In other words, a ghost orb.

I think the ghost has some properties issue with others when he lives, maybe other people wants to claim his properties. He probably died because of protecting his own properties.
