@@hpcamera6602 I was lucky enough to find them at a music festival in SF. Didn’t see them play there but someone gave me an iTunes card with 5 free songs. One was there’s and I didn’t like it at first, then it grew on me and we went and seen them in Petaluma at a bluegrass festival. They were announced as the only band without a drummer (they have a drummer now) that will cause mosh pits, and they didn’t lie. It was a great show.

It's definitely different, but something about this as the next step in a journey all the way from their first album, it fits really well. Like, there was conflict and battle, this seems to be a sort of resolution. The funkier beat and more refined tones give a sense of control and accomplishment finally. Like... victory.

I mean its not a bad song but it sounds more like houndmouth or some other indie band . They seem like they have deffitnley lost there gritty edge that they had in the first couple albums. Hopefully the album has a little more soul to it. This just seems to clean for them
@Divert4866 жыл бұрын
I know it sucks to not hear a sound that we expect from a band we love but bands do evolve. They would probably get bored of themselves if they always performed the same kind of music. Take another listen to their albums chronologically, you'll see a constant evolution.

Idk this is the culmination of their sound man. I'm sure the rest of the album will rage. They dont wanna go letting the cat out of the bag with 1 track. This song is different but it is them all day. Probably finally getting to where they want to go. It's just good fuckin music man, that's it

Just saw them a month ago at a show called "Bluegrass in the Bottoms", and Pete Bernard said they don't consider themselves a bluegrass band and never have; though he didn't state what genre to classify them, I'd say definitely indie foremost with folk and rockabilly influences.
@SendMoreParamedics136 жыл бұрын
There's nothing about the Devil Makes Three that makes them indie, other than this song (and maybe the rest of the album, haven't heard it yet). They're much more folk, than anything. There's certainly rockabilly influences as well, but they sure as hell aren't an indie band.
