This amazing story teller doesn't need all the visual and sound effects. He did great in his first story all by himself and he would have done great in this story without all the disturbing extra effects.

Lol Also not that it’s important but I’ve been working the Northern California renaissance faire for 16 years now. Loved loved this!

I cannot recommend enough the film "Errementari", entirely produced and filmed in the Basque Country, and spoken in Basque, about another blacksmith that deceives another devil... It's on Netflix!

Isn't finding the origins of the strange little things we do fun? Like throwing salt over your shoulder. If you accidentally knock over the salt, which is a substance of purification that many supernatural forces cannot touch, you have to throw a pinch of the spilled salt over your right shoulder. Apparently wasting such a valuable mineral is a terrible sin, so the devil will sneak up on you to punish you. The thrown salt is meant to hit him in the eyes and keep him away. Imagine tossing garlic into Dracula's face while he's trying to creep on you.

I think its a shame that this video doesn't have many views. I thought it was a wonderful piece of storytelling. I really felt like part of the scene: two peasants back in the day swapping long winded stories over some menial labor. Hope to see more of these videos!

Love these videos, but the editing and sound effects aren't needed. They actually take away from the simple enjoyment of the storytelling, pulls you out of the moment. The first two were much better just as they were.

It's a really good story, but I hope you guys will use back the older editing style :( it's indeed really distracting, especially the gold part, also the sound effects that played while explaining the devil. the older version is soothing but this isn't ... i'm sorry, i really hope you'll bring back the old editing version also, i'm really thankful for this series, I LOVE IT-!!

He was specifically doing that so he could claim the souls of the people he made a deal with (“See you soon” = See you in Hell) . He was killing two birds with one stone; He’d get what he physically wanted from them (the cloak, food, etc) along with their soul through the deal being made.

Not gonna lie, I thought this was going to be about how some people mistake Halloween/Samhain for being a holiday about Devil worship. But this was a very sweet story about horseshoes! I love it! My favorite part is how cheerful the Devil sounds: "I'm hungry. Oh, look, an inn. Perfect! I'll just pop in there and get a bite to eat!"

I do hope you all listen to the concerns over the editing! It’s really jarring. I love this series, but this episode was a bit difficult to enjoy, as I usually like (late evening, with a cup of tea and a warm blanket, maybe a candle. Totally recommend)

Simple effects are ok like in old radio shows. But the others ruin the story, distracts from his amazing storytelling. I love the nature in the background, that's what you would have heard during stories then.

A cloven hoof -- as found on an ox, for example, requires two shoes -- one for each side of the hoof. So the blacksmith would have made four shoes for the devil's cloven hoofs, not two. The storyteller did not do his homework.
