Unfortunately it looks nothing like that now, there are just heaps of litter scattered all over the area and at upper levels, the area has an access exemption order at the moment so is completely out of boundswith no acess possible till Wednesday 1 july, there are plans to develop the area with parking and a visitor centre lodged with Stirling Council at the moment, this will however ruin the place forever, you should have seen it forty years ago, stunning. Outlander has a lot to answer for.

I know I used to come here with not one person in sight it was a magical place, now it's just ruined with too many disrespectful people, I wouldnt mind exploring it one last time but looks like I'm too late

How did this becomes so overrun with townies? And where did the stupid name come from?

It became overrun because of the outlander series was filmed down here, I used to go here years ago to photograph it and there wasn't a soul in sight, so many people being rescued from here because of their stupidity taking young kids down there
