1. the girl behind me gave me a headbutt while dodging the ball. I was knocked out by that time. 2. I have could stayed longer in that position because my naked butt was sticking on that wheel. It’s an old trick from real Bavarian people who played this for decades. 3. the girl in red who tried to help made it worse because I lost traction 😂 All over my first attempt was really fun and I left the wheel with glory and respect from the audience. 😎

My dad was in the Air force when i was a small child we moved to germany for four years back in 1954. this video is so German, what a beautiful culture. for some reason this video triggered so many happy memories of living in Germany. So much good fun.

One quick thing to point out. Oktoberfest is actually already going on in Germany. It starts in September no clue why but it usually ends at the beginning of October

They use to try and lasso them, but it didn't work super well. So now they just literally let the spinning platform help tie them up by launching the ropes out there.

The spinney wheel is a Bavarian tradition called "Teufelsrad", the Devil's Wheel, and has been a part of the Oktoberfest since 1910. Although it was wide spread throughout the German world, its first recreational use can be traced to the coronation of Holy Roman Emperor Louis IV. During the ceremony there were a lot more spreadies and a lot less undies, and its use was deemed "highly inappropriate" by the Church. (Some facts may have been altered for comical purposes)

I live in central Texas where there is a large German population (New Braunfels, Guerne, Fredericksburg) and we just call it The German Underwear Show. It involves a LOT of cold beer. Loads of fun !
