Standard D would be if you take that tuning and tune down every string one full step, so D G C F A D, while Drop tuning is like Standard tuning but only "dropping" the lowest string by a full step. Drop D would be D A D G B E (so Standard E with the lowest string dropped by a full step). A very common metalcore tuning is Drop C, which is Standard D but the lowest dropped by a full step (so C G C F A D)
