I don’t know why but the screams have so much fucking emotion

Damn. This song... This is my absolute favorite TDWP song. This song has gotten me through so much this past year. I lost my mom this summer. She had been battling cancer off and on for 20 years. This song helped me express my feelings, my anger, my frustrations and anxieties during her last few months. The lyrics hit close to home to me, especially the lines "Some say there's hope in this. There is love. Show me her eyes, I'll feel her hair." My mom was my best friend, my ultimate go-to for support, laughter, advice... She was my rock. I'm very glad you made a music video for this masterpiece. You all have helped me get through this year more than you'll ever know. Thank you. Happy holidays. I love you, mom. Nothing changes. :)

I loved this album because it was a really personal album. You can really feel and hear the struggle in a lot of the songs. The passion and raw emotion really comes across and is a new and fresh direction for TDWP. They've proven to be capable in many types of lyrical situations. They are one of my favorite bands of all time.

TDWP gets better with each release. Not many bands have a good evolution, the fanbase usually splits at one point or another, but this band can pull it off while still keeping a sound that everyone loves.
@LoganReidMedia10 жыл бұрын
This fanbase kinda did divide though... After the With Branches Above album many fans didn't like the new sound with Dead Throne / 818. Im not counting Zombie since it's an EP and everyone icluding non-prada loves it.

This is personally my favorite TDWP song. and it's weird, there's no breakdowns (which I absolutely love) just heavy riffs and a catchy chorus and the emotion and passion you hear in mikes voice and the song structure in general. Prada gets better with each album.
@jakehobbs10 жыл бұрын
This song has so much freaking emotion you can just hear it through mike's screams "I'm fighting the war, rather than war itself... I'm caught in the midst of NO REDEMPTION!!!" it is so powerful!

This is my favorite song out of the entire album. Ive listened to this song multiple times and I get chills every time because I hear the passion. It's amazing how they combine all the instruments in such a perfect way. The guitars sound heavy when they have to. I love the compenetration between gutural voice and clean vocals. Jeremy has improved and grown up his voice. Mike is pure and raw pasion, feelings and a story teller. The keyboards in this album play such an important part, that much that I dare to state that the album would've failed if they hadn't had the keyboards. In conclusion, 8:18 is just one of the best albums of all time. They have changed my perception of life :)

It looks like the kids are in a lab. You see the doctor with the white coat.(He grabs a fire extinguisher) at around 2:15 you see a girl next to a science experiment (A whiteboard behind her reads "Science Expo") Now, If you look very closely around 2:41 you'll see that she is working on a Thermochemical experiement. If you're not familiar with Thermochemistry, It's the study of energy and heat associated with chemical reactions or physical changes. You'll also see a picture of the world's first Ice Caliometer on there as well. Let's go back to the man/Dr with the fire extinguisher. A fire extinguisher does what? Extinguish a flame. This is a chemical reaction that cools the fire. (Thermochemical reaction) What are Thermochemical reactions good for? Converting Biomass into Biofuels. Biofuels are renewable resources made from plant matter and algae and converted into fuels. This is being considered an alternative to some non renewable resources such a petroleum and fossil fuels which contribute greatly to global warming. Now, the lyrics. "Will I ever forgive myself?" "I'm fighting the war rather than war it's self." If we're thinking environmentally, "Will I ever forgive myself?" Is a good question to ask when you help take part in destroying our Earth everyday. Fighting the war, may have something to do with trying to prevent the worst from happening but "i'm caught in the midst of no redemption." Did you see the sky, in the video? It looks thick, black, and smoggy. This video could possibly show Earth, when greenhouse gas emissions, etc. get so bad that they block out the sun. (On a side note, blackening of the sun and moon is found in the book of Revelations in the Bible It comes along with the 7 plagues) So, That makes you think, what if it's us? Us humans that are bringing Revelation and the 7 plagues upon ourselves? You see these kids trying to fix the world we all fucked up. (There's a sign that just says "Youth" in the video) You see these youth trying to fix the Earth by finding alternatives for energy.. (doing that experiment) In the beginning, you see everyone fall down, they look like they're suffocating. There's a hole in the ceiling and my guess, is that all the toxic gases in the air are coming into the "secure" building and poisoning the kids. "I watch her wings eclipse the light of day." Remember that 7 angels bring about revelations? This angel's wings are the smog, fumes, and toxic gases blocking out the sun.. "They say there's hope in this, there is love" This means there's a possibility that the problem can be fixed. You see the youth and the dr/scientist man trying to figure out a solution. "I'll be back to deja vu, over and over the same question.." will I ever forgive myself? So, If the problem is fixed, will the author ever forgive himself for being a part of this? Will he forgive himself for bringing a plague in Revelations?

I've been listening to TDWP since Dear Love. Every album since Plagues has taken some time for me to get used to, but in the end I've come to realize that they just keep getting better and better. Even when When Roots Above and Branches Below came out I was skeptical. But like I said, it just took me a little time to hear what they were trying to do and the image they were trying to portray before I could understand that they are maturing and putting out great music in each album. I agree that TDWP is nothing like it was back in 2006, and thank god for that! I LOVE Plagues, but I'm happy that they haven't bee trying to recreate that success every time they put a new song out, because then I never would have been able to hear great songs like "Mammoth," "Wapakalypse," 8:18," "Martyrs," and "War". In all honesty, I don't listen to much hardcore music anymore. But I'm ALWAYS watching and waiting for great bands like ABR, BMTH, ADTR, and TDWP to come out with new material. I'm really looking forward to their new album. I have no doubt in my mind that it will be fucking sick. TDWP fan forever! Keep making great music, guys.
