I think this video goes to prove the TDWP is the most diverse band ever. To write an EP about zombies, to make a music video that looks like Tool made it, to have ridiculous names for song, to have the most energetic love performances, and to make a music video about puppets, they really break all barriers in the metal. These guys are truly awesome. Not only that but to keep your faith in the metal scene? You'd get so much hate but these guys keep at it, there's a special reason why these guys are my favorite band.

@xXdrumfreak23Xx10 жыл бұрын
I concur. TDWP have certainly grown up from being just another group of scene kids emulating popular metalcore acts. They're mature and original, and I think they're one of a few bands that are playing heavy music, selling a lot of records, and being genuine artists all at the same time. You don't see all three of those things in the same band very often. I have a lot of respect for them.
@TheeDevilWearsPrada10 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'm a huge fan of TDWP. Have been for a long time now. Just look at my username. I'm so glad they're not a generic metal band. I don't like these other bands that sound the same for every single album. I like how TDWP's albums all sound different especially Dead Throne and 8:18. They've really progressed with their music. They're getting better and better and not putting out generic same breakdowns for the whole entire song like a lot of other bands. TDWP and ABR are the only two metalcore bands I listen to. I don't even like the term metalcore to be honest. I'll just call em Metal bands. I have to say though, my taste in music has changed a lot and I haven't listened to metal in nearly a year but TDWP and ABR are the only metal bands of the current generation that I truly respect.

Next to Transgress and In Heart this song I think is their most... touching song. I mean the riffing throughout is very metalcore. Its distinct and everybody's done it. That's the point they wanted that sound through the guitars... but seeing the video really threw me off because it was like my pumped up headbanging song on Warped. Seeing the video and watching the story though, was wow I don't really know what to say... Its just really genuine and sorrowful. Especially the ending when the screams repeat "you can find love ELSEWHERE!!!" which I always thought was a defiance but seeing the two (song and video) intertwine it really makes me think that its the girls last wish for her mate... was for him to find love elsewhere and assuring him that it was okay because she couldn't be there anymore.

@TyronTention10 жыл бұрын
That word "generic" gets thrown around so much and its really annoying. This band is not generic. They have a very distinguishable atmosphere and production/tone that is signature to them. Unique guitar tone and screamed vox are included. A genre isn't just defined by the guitars you know! Anyway, this album is really about self awareness and they did a fine job on the feeling of the album. All this stuff comes from the heart and you people call this soulless? Oh please, that would be an insult to every single member who put a fuck ton of time and effort into making it sound how they wanted it to. Watch the studio updates for a taste of that. I get the whole opinion thing, but saying this band has become worse and soulless as a fact, is just bullshit, that's not an opinion anymore then. Instead of focusing on insulting everything you hear learn what real soul is about instead of just throwing around the "generic" comment of "Oh, this is so generic".

Slootyboot yea that's a pretty good point. For instance, I love early ADTR, but its no masterpiece. I often wonder just how much nostalgia ends up making music better then it actually is in our minds, hence the, "Their older stuff was way better."

Slootyboot You can't really say their older stuff is generic tbh, because at that time they were original before bands started to go for that style. To me TDWP just sounds like a more progressive and heavier Underoath.

I don't quite understand the whole concept of generic. Its a subgenre/genre, ie bands of similar tastes or writing styles having their own take on it. it literally just makes no sense why people complain about this it baffles me to no end. People have been reusing riffs melodies and whatnot throughout all of music history, if someone had to come up with something completely original to be liked music would have died a long time ago.
