@@DeadBarbarian Dont be a dumbass then you wouldnt need to feel guilty about it. Your choices have consequences and ultimately in that moment that was perfect to get the police there would have labeled him brave and tenacious. I think its unfair to blame Gilles for not reporting his attack. We dont typically shame women for not reporting a rape. We all know its the best thing if people do report attacks no matter what kind of attack it is, but we (or at least i) get why they would be apprehensive. I feel its similar for Gilles, he was attacked but wasnt killed right, so if he felt violated and humiliated because of that, i cant get angry at him for not reporting due to the overwhelming emotions he was having. It wasnt the right choice but i hardly think it warrants people saying some nasty things and shaming him intensely for it. He made a bad call and that bad call allowed for more bad things to happen but can we not victim blame? I dont think anyone here would victim blame a rape victim for not reporting what they went through. Can we give the same empathy for an innocent man who was almost killed? And at least he did find the courage to come out about it at some point (which happens for rape victims as well, sometimes it can be a long time before people say something terrible happened to them)
@HipHopAnotomus Жыл бұрын
People don't realize how hard it is to go to the police for any type of assault. Especially for something as wild as an attack like this, there's a good chance they won't even take you seriously. They don't even take more common assaults seriously a lot of the time.

Also, you can’t see where Giles is coming from AT ALL? You know he would’ve been mocked by literally MILLIONS of people after all of that trauma. If you honestly do not know that, look at what people are saying about Jack after he came out with his allegations against Sienna Mae. It’s realllyyy hard for anyone to go to the police, it’s so hard for women to re-tell their story, but it’s even worse for men. And obviously he had no idea if this guy would do this again. Most times when these movies are made, they still heavily alter stuff for entertainment, especially since the person has passed so they obviously won't be able to speak out about it. (Of course, families come in and reveal how the movie uses their deceased family member's name in bad light but the damage is still done regardless, and most people viewing the movie won't bother do research and take the movie characterization of the deceased individual at face value.)
