It is when you’re inspired by dexter. I mean that’s just embarrassing and now that’s all he’s known for. Not as a great director, not as a successful serial killer, but as a terrible wannabe copycat… who killed a man for nothing. Not that I’m routing for killers but he literally didn’t have a reason to kill ppl besides for a movie he never got to finish therefore making the situation even sadder bc it could have all been avoided, a man didn’t have to lose his life over nothing.

@@NemosDead I think he forgot that there are other ways to get into the mind of a killer without being one too. I mean I know I'm on a few lists bc of my Google searches lol. Most were research some for curiosity. That's like thinking light from death note was right and commiting to copying the live action version of him. I always say if you're going to be stupid at least be smart about it. He wasn't smart not one bit. But part of me is happy he ruined his infamy. that's not the point of the show either, dexter wasn't some kind of vigilante, it just happened to be that the profile of his victims was criminals. serial killers/psychopaths don't apply normal human logic to pick their victims, it's like art to them and the victim profile is the style of the art.

@dragonvarine7553
@dragonvarine7553 6 ай бұрын
@@DeadBarbarian Dont be a dumbass then you wouldnt need to feel guilty about it. Your choices have consequences and ultimately in that moment that was perfect to get the police there would have labeled him brave and tenacious. Instead he pussied out because of his ego and let another man die. His actions directly lead to the death of that man. Victim blaming is sometimes necessary especially since many people with trauma have no issue with calling the police since they havent got a massive ego.

I think its unfair to blame Gilles for not reporting his attack. We dont typically shame women for not reporting a rape. We all know its the best thing if people do report attacks no matter what kind of attack it is, but we (or at least i) get why they would be apprehensive. I feel its similar for Gilles, he was attacked but wasnt killed right, so if he felt violated and humiliated because of that, i cant get angry at him for not reporting due to the overwhelming emotions he was having. It wasnt the right choice but i hardly think it warrants people saying some nasty things and shaming him intensely for it. He made a bad call and that bad call allowed for more bad things to happen but can we not victim blame? I dont think anyone here would victim blame a rape victim for not reporting what they went through. Can we give the same empathy for an innocent man who was almost killed? And at least he did find the courage to come out about it at some point (which happens for rape victims as well, sometimes it can be a long time before people say something terrible happened to them)
@HipHopAnotomus

People don't realize how hard it is to go to the police for any type of assault. Especially for something as wild as an attack like this, there's a good chance they won't even take you seriously. They don't even take more common assaults seriously a lot of the time.

He could have called, gave them the letter or dropped it off, whatever. His actions directly lead to the next man dying. If the police didnt take it seriously that's a different story but we can just assume that considering he didnt even fucking try.

I mean you know Giles is going to live with this the rest of his life… the trauma of going through the ordeal, and the trauma of believing Johnny’s death is his fault. Also, you can’t see where Giles is coming from AT ALL? You know he would’ve been mocked by literally MILLIONS of people after all of that trauma. If you honestly do not know that, look at what people are saying about Jack after he came out with his allegations against Sienna Mae. It’s realllyyy hard for anyone to go to the police, it’s so hard for women to re-tell their story, but it’s even worse for men. And obviously he had no idea if this guy would do this again. I mean just slow down and look at it from his point of view… I get it. The first time I heard this story a few years ago I was sooo mad at Giles. But again, just slow down.

I'm mad late but the victim blaming in this video is so shameful. I hate when people use "if it was a woman" but genuinely if you told woman who got assualted it was her fault the next victim died everyone would rightfully call you out. Its ok because the crime wasn't sexual or domestic? Absolutely not. Stop treating trauma victims like they're at fault for their attackers's acts. That means male victims too.

Most times when these movies are made, they still heavily alter stuff for entertainment, especially since the person has passed so they obviously won't be able to speak out about it. (Of course, families come in and reveal how the movie uses their deceased family member's name in bad light but the damage is still done regardless, and most people viewing the movie won't bother do research and take the movie characterization of the deceased individual at face value.)
