From a time when trucks were trucks. Fortunately at the beginning of my trucking career there were still trucks from the 50's & 60's still working & I got the chance to drive a few.. Nice truck sounds great.

Ah brings back memories of mile long lines behind those low geared trucks, and two lane highways. Good looking T.

GREAT Video!!..... I've driven a few "T"'s years ago but were all GM Diesel Powered (as they were known before the name change to DD in mid-1965). Nice to hear that ole "Iron Lung" Cummins workin the grades.

Very nice Diamond T.....You are giving that classic a good workout....My father had a 1961 Diamond T not sure of the model....It was used as a wrecker and had a Holmes 750 ....220 Cummins with a 10 spd....Not sure of the model but had a set back axle was a tough old truck and served us well...Had the compression release starter in it.....Was back in the early 70s...I was about 10 years old and I loved that old truck....Very tough and it did some amazing recoveries......Really enjoy seeing the old classic Diamond Ts.....Take care and hope you are still enjoying the one you have....

That is an awesome looking Diamond T. I've seen some of his other truck in books and they look every bit as nice. Do you know if he is restoring the late 40's Pete on the lowboy? Great video by the way!

Nothing like the sound of that air starter .
@tracylemme13754 жыл бұрын
I do believe the unique starter sound was the engine turning over with the engine compression release pulled. All Cummins engines that I remember from that era used a compression release for not only starting the engine but also to shut it down. It is good to hear that ole engine talk.
