The real reason Pink Diamond left Spinel was because when she got here colony, Pink wanted to be matured, she wants to show everyone that she is not just some with play buddy, buy acting like a true diamond, she left Spinel because she felt to childish bringing Spinel to her new colony where she had her fresh start with being Rose Quartz and falling in love with Earth. So yeah Pink Diamond left Spinel on purpose.
