It fookin' baffles the hell out of me why The Dictators were'nt, aren't the on of the biggest bands ever. They've some of the best tunes ever put on vinyl, "Loyola" being a case in point. Awesome video, thanks for posting.

Their first album just about beats every “rock” album since! (Take that, Green Day.)

Thanks for posting this. Ross "The Boss"'s guitar work sends shivers down my spine! I like The Ramones, but The Dictaors could play "rings around" them. It's a damn shame The Ramones got all the credit for the New York punk scene, when The Dictators were there first, and the Ramones were heavily influenced by them. These guys really should have been "The Next Big Thing."!

There was a bootleg cassette released around this time by ROIR records, which is just about the greatest RNR album ever.... I saw the Dictators live with this lineup (minus Teeter on drums) in around '93 in Winnipeg. To this day, Ross the Boss was the most exciting guitarist that I've ever seen live. What an incredible show they put on! And the best part: smokin a joint with H.D. Manitoba and Adny Shernoff after the gig in the middle of the dancefloor and talkin classic wrasslin'.....

I wish I was 22 in 1981 at this show instead of 39 in 2013, I wouldn't be as fucking stupid and ignorant as to this band's existence and impact on every other live band after them. I need more of this.

can't really compare Dictators and Ramones. Listen to the Live from CBGB album, if you can find it. Or Live from the Rat (Boston) All those bands were just pre punk and still trying to be Rock bands. The Ramones could barely play at first. Unfortunately, the Ramones remaind an industry joke for too long and didn't really get the airplay they deserved. The later albums were full of should have been hits! But he Dictators should have been huge. . No radio support and they should havve toured more
