Did I do it perfectly? Absolutely not. Could I have done it better? Yep! Still learning and still finding my way with this new lifestyle. What about you? I believe we can all become healthier people, and I believe it's simple, but it's not easy. Would love to hear your story!

@@becoming_superhuman I did Keto for about 7 months lost 23# but slowly back to where it started! It has taken me two years to get back to 200# from 177! Wife told me i was getting my gut back, though not as bad cause I still do my walks and Kettlebells! So I am 3 days back on Ketovore! Some veggies, mostly proteins, eat when you’re hungry! I did not clean out the cupboard because I need to prove I won’t give in! Worked last time! I do one cheat meal a week cause wife is Carb based, dislikes meats, so we have one common meal a week! But I feel you for Sweets! I was a Pepsi and Tastycake addict till about 6 years ago! They are the Devil on my shoulder! But I keep pushing on! That’s my story. By the way thats a great hat, is very becoming for you! I can’t find one to fit my big head, except caps! Lol! 120# loss is impressive! Best of luck to you!

Back in the '60's my Dad traveled a lot as a salesman. He told me a story of checking into a hotel he had last stayed in many months before. The guy running the night desk had previously been extremely overweight, but on the night Dad was checking in, had obviously lost a massive amount of weight. Dad asked him how and he replied "I stopped eating everything that was white". The guy was ahead of his time.

Listening to this sounds like me!!! I was 276 and I am now 237 in less than 3 months. I had to get super strict with myself. I also started out as Keto but then after maybe 5 or 6 weeks, I cut back on the fats. I eat a lot of chicken, fish or pork and veggies. I love broccoli with a little butter and salt. I also cut out all carbs and fruits. My taste buds certainly have changed!!! My new best friends are red beets and cucumbers! Love them soooo much! I think ahead on what I can eat before I go out with family somewhere, look up the menu and avoid the carbs and baked potatoes and desserts etc. I was also pre diabetic and my BP was creeping up more and more. I just got my blood work done yesterday so I’m so excited to see where it is now!!! I’m never really hungry anymore because my body is satisfied. I don’t have any cravings for all the old stuff I was eating. I feel amazing!

My motivation is to keep control and help me with severe chronic & neuropathic pain. As soon as I get over a certain weight pain doubles and triples up. Ongoing ketogenic life style for nearly 5 years now. I’m also a food addict and keto has helped a lot. Sadly, I do break occasionally when severely stressed though. But able to get back on track.

On the Temple of Apollo in the Greek city of Delphi there were some life mottos inscribed. Two of them were "Know thyself" and "Nothing in Excess." Pretty good advice, right? Many people use food to compensate for some other problem/issue. Find out what yours is and deal with it directly and not through food. For me, at age 65, I'd like to see and feel what it will be like to be 100 or more years old. *Eating processed foods will not get me there.* All those empty calories, those _poisons,_ would keep me from that goal and I am not about to fail that mission. For anyone reading this, decide what you think is important in life and then ask yourself, _"Don't I need to be healthy, my best self, to reach those goals and accomplish my dreams?"_ You know what you need to do. *Do it!* See you on the other side of 100. 🥰

Now I eat plain greek yogurt, cheese, unsweetened bakers chocolate, dry roasted or cocktail peanuts that contain ONLY peanuts & salt on the ingredient list), almonds, ground meat and soft cooked veggies like broccoli and peppers. I DO eat some low carb ice cream once a week... I had gastric bypass surgery 3-4 years ago, and I eat the ice cream because the fat in it clears out my intestines/bowels fairly quickly. Peanuts largely pass through me, providing fiber so no need for fiber supplements anymore. I cannot eat stringy meat or most leafy greens. It has taken me all these years after surgery to get to this point. I had to go to a mostly carb based diet for a week before a colonoscopy, broth, clear liquids, and both popsicles ns hard candy without red or purple dyes (which eliminated the sugar free versions of both popsicles and candy that was available at the store -- I have a minimum calorie count I am to maintain).... My legs swelled up badly by the end of this, took a week to get back my system back to my normal diet, and for my edema in the legs to drain so I could walk normally.

Same. Fried chicken, fried okra, beans and rice, biscuits & gravy, shrimp & mudbugs, BBQ everything, fried catfish and hushpuppies, smoked sausage & potato salad. Southerners know how to eat lol. I'm not giving up any of it. I have to spread it out though. Ya know.....pro tip. I also found that if I make a big old pot of it so there's leftovers, the easiest way to have your cake and eat it too is to not eat it as a meal. Snack on it throughout the day. Put it in the fridge. When you get hungry, make a small saucer sized portion, heat it up and approach it more as an appetizer, get a few bites throughout the day and not all at once. Save some for tomorrow and if it's one meal's worth, go ahead and do that. This way you're getting the pleasure from it but in a few bites to get your body to settle down thinking you ate something...then you can go longer periods without eating. The same way you'd eat a candy bar or pop some candies, do that with the main dish.

Good luck to you. I would recommend you cut out all Seed Oils and hidden MSGs that spike your insulin levels 300%. MSG, hydrolized protein, dextros, maltodextrin, cultured celery powder, paprika extract, natural flavor, vegetable broth which is really fermented soybeans which also is why soy sauce gives millions migraines headaches. It sounds healthy but it isn't. There are many reasons to not consume seed oils. It is shocking how they are in almost everything but in addition to clogging your arteries, when they are stored as fat, your body is packed with a kind of fat your cells want no part of. Its a bizarre situation but your cells are very specific about what they let into their cell walls, this is why just taking vitamins is not as good as eating vitamin rich foods that are bioavailable because they are ready to go to a cell and the cell welcomes them in. When you are loaded with fat your cells want nothing to do with, when you try to diet and lose weight your cells would rather starve than consume your putrid cell oil induced fat. When you wake up to the fact that See Oils and hidden MSGs are in just about everything you pick up in a grocery store you will no longer wonder why as a nation everyone is struggling with a weight problem.

Thanks, Karen! I try not to do it in such a way as to make me crave it, but to relate to others who are in a similar boat. But, yes, there's so much we can talk about all the good things we can eat. Im a carb addict. It was made apparent to me lately. I was at my sisters house, and her son made a cake for his daughters. I had a small piece, then kept going back for more. It was like there was a monster inside me, roaring 😢 MORE! It didn't help that the food my sister cooks is really heavy on the carbs. Now, back at home, I'm struggling to get back on track. Three meals a day, good protein and good fat. I can have a clean whey protein even some of Dr Kiltz's homemade ice cream during a heat wave. Im about 15 pounds away from my weight loss goal, but if it doesn't happen, if I don't reach that number, it's okay. I'm 66, and my weight is okay for my age. I just want to get rid of the creaky joints and the chronic migraines. I want to run around with all my grand nieces and nephews and later, to dance at their weddings. I did notice, about three weeks ago that my back pain was gone. Gone! And i also realised that it had been gone for a while. This diet is worth every sacrifice I'm making.

Unfortunately the vast majority of people who are obese live in food deserts. They do not have access to whole foods. I live 40 minutes away from the nearest grocery store. I can drive, most are relatively poor so may not have a car. Or have mobility issues. They really need others to help them get healthy. The other issue is the massive increase in cost. Those same people tend to be lower income. They cannot afford healthier foods. So the issue is there needs to be cheap healthy foods to replace those cheap bad foods and are easily accessible.

Then I had a few bad restaurant meals and fell completely off the wagon. It is an eating disorder but tied I think to abusing food trying to fill other holes in life that I need to get straight. All I know is a few good deserts, or a hamburger, or a pizza and it seems to be all over. Ive gained nearly the entire loss back in these past 4 months. It is not hard at all to eat 5,000 or more calories a day, and there's no outrunning even 3000 calories a day. Need to get back to under 2000. I do most of the cooking for me and my partner. I have been eating meat and eggs only for the last two weeks and have cooked for both of us several times in the same period. I find that changing eating patterns is a fundamental choice I make, the several times in my life that I have done this - I'm 63 now - and the most recent change took around 4 months waiting to get into the right headspace for the switch to be flicked to set me into a new pattern. You may find, as I have, that if you allow this switch to flip over, you will have no temptation whatsoever to eat your partner's veg. Last night I cooked lamb chops for both of us, but served hers with buttered white cabbage and carrots. They looked and smelled great, but I had zero interest in them, just because of this mindset. Good luck with whichever path you follow and I wish you success.

🌸 I recently started to eat the way my mom did My whole life I ate healthy but since bad fall at work and hurt my back and gained weight I threw my good habits out window Due to being fed up being unable to do same things I used to do I started to eat healthy again and lost weight by simply small changes in my diet I don’t have sugar anyway and when I was exercising and kept fit, I had flat tum Since 1 yr of bad back, which took 8 mths to get better, I am walking more and exercising again and I do feel happier And more energy, I noticed when I hardly did anything I was always tired, but now I am more energetic 😊 Eating whole foods and fresh veg and fruits is amazing During COVID19 I bought lots of baby fruit trees at £1 each and planted them every spare space I had I started a herb and salad garden due to that time, now I am growing more vegetables and eating your own produce ensures there is no pesticides and it’s healthy. I actually found eating rice is better for me, I don’t eat a lot, just small portions I only eat it once per day, fish and chicken for other meal. I went from 3 meals to two small ones Some people I know eat one meal, I think it’s based on personal preference and what works for you I do believe everything in moderation

Everyone is different. I am a food addict too. Most of what he says is true for me too.

You can do it, too. And, yes, everyone is different, but somethings are true for everyone. Like eating whole foods and avoiding ultra processed foods.

I just recently became aware that mct oil is the thing to use while you transition into ketosis. It will give you instant energy because it goes straight to the liver and creates ketones. It always bothered me that I was starving my brain in that transitional period as evidenced by headaches and brain fog, but MCT oil is the answer to that. NOT coconut oil I might add. Love your video

Coconut oil has medium chain triglycerides in it. That’s the source for many mct oils.

I tried MCT and could not do it--caused me to itch all over. In fact too many weeks at VERY low carb also causes the itch for me. I found maybe 150 g Carbs day is where I did well.

@@petekutheis3822 I’m not militantly low carb for myself. My goal is no more than 50 grams per day with those grams coming from a fruit, vegetable, or legume that I consume. I don’t count fiber as a carb so goal is 50 grams or less net carbs.

Yes I also had a very bad rash and itching one time on very low carb. It was awful. I heard an explanation of that but can't quite recall what it was. @@petekutheis3822

Hi. I’m proud of you! I had done this several years ago. I relapsed on birthday cake. I spiraled down during lockdown and I couldn’t get a day clean. Now I’ve hit bottom with blood pressure. I’m on day 4. Doing ok so far but I’m hungry.
