@@rpg9392 Not so correct - teaching is a one-way interaction. Coaching emphasizes a two-way dynamic - as someone with a deep background in both, there is in fact a distinction which I outlined in the video.

Teacher is more 1:30 ratio. Coach is more 1:1.

I do think the definitions in the video are good starting points, but they are a bit too minimal in focus. A GOOD teacher will always include aspects of what this video defines as "coaching," especially when working 1:1 or in small groups. It can be more complicated with classrooms, but still very much possible. Typically, coaching is more question-based, which is mentioned in the video, but from my understanding, the core difference between teaching and coaching is that teachers understand they are bringing new information to students where coaches are trying to pull out information that students already know but either forgot or don't have the confidence to use. For my company, I call myself an "English coach" because I lean more heavily on helping my clients use what they already have, but there are aspects of teaching that are involved, as well. I would say it's about 66-75% coaching, then 25-34% teaching, depending on the student's level.
