I got the 5mm after deciding to either get the 4mm or 5mm. I do b&g 3RL stuff. Sadly the 5mm turns the skin too red. Wish I went with the 4mm instead. Sad. The dots and lines are very crisp though. But it’s hard to shade when it raises the skin and turns it red so fast.

Have all three I mainly use the 5.0mm and 4mm bit I do color alot but when I get a smooth 3rl the 4mm seems to do that whip 3rl single needle best

@@ivanmendoza8457 Gonna stick with the 5m, not gonna spend another 1.2k on a new machine, lol. I've learned to take the redness away with some technique, also bought a uncle roys machine for stippling, still have to try that one out.

@@JOKE485 uncle Roy's are good I got the iron bite slow speed and the vester micro dot I love those two for dotwork when we have disposables but I feel u these wireless machines are crazy overpriced i got the new Flux max and I'm trading it already for a Acus

@@ivanmendoza8457 I was considering buying the flux max before the 5mm sol nova. I have the bishop powerwand shader and packer and sol nova 3.5 I sold but now the sol nova 5mm. How come you're selling the flux?

Whaaaaat I've experienced the opposite - 5mm and ta da colors are saturated almost at first pass. Try to use less needle length, a tiny bit less than 2mm is what I use. Slower hand movement and 7-8.5V and I get white in without turning pink from the blood. I use the 5mm for everything from micro realism to bold colour packing and my lines got waaay better.

I still dont know the difference. If i take 4.0 is there some things I will not be able to do with this stroke? Normally I work on 7/9/11 RL is it ok?

I wouldn‘t say that it’s impossible. But with a bigger stroke shading can become more difficult. And with a lower stroke lining can become more difficult. But there’re other things that count in ,like ur experience, technique, … . U have to find out what works best for u. A common advice for beginners is a 3.5 mm or sometimes a 4 mm stroke machine.

The more hit the better for lines, the less hit the better for shading, but u can du all with same stroke (like I heard) im just an apprentice and never hold a machine 😅 today was my first day, my mentor told me to get the 4mm stroke, it's an allrounder

Pretending these things are not a complete scam is hilarious. All pens are insanely overpriced, impossible to sterilize and the performance does not and will not ever match that of a coil machine. Anyways imagine what you have to leave the grandkids at the end of your career…. A box full of busted beyond repair pen machines. Or some handmade works of art. Don’t be fooled by the hype. Seek out a coil machine builder. You’ll thank me later.
