Both are awesome weapons , I have a 20 year old 290 that I just blew up and im sick about it. Was my firewood go to saw for smaller diameter stuff . Love the pro saws !! Probably going to be my next major purchase. I almost feel like doing a rebuild on my 290 but I don't have the knowledge. It was my first ever brand new Stihl. Awesome video Reuben, great info !!

You got some good time out of that saw. They are fairly easy to rebuild, just a bit more in-depth than rebuilding a pro saw. Drop it off, I’ll get it done for ya 😆

@Earth and Bloom Lol, don't laugh, I almost ordered a hi-way cylinder kit for it as it is all scored up. Then I chickened out because I figured I would screw it up 😳 I should send the saw to you and you can fiddle with it and if you get it going you can keep and use it if you are interested. The outside of the body is in great shape for its age. I take really good care of my babies

@@famasmaster2000 those are good kits! It’s definitely a learning curve on the first one, then it becomes fairly simple! And eh, don’t tempt me with a good time 😆 It definitely make an appearance on the channel lol! I usually bump 029s up to an 039, for a bit of extra jam

@Earth and Bloom oh man, I'm going to send you a pic once I get out to my garage and if you think it interests you, it's yours . I would love to see it rip again on your ranch 👍😁

I use both and like them both. The organization I volunteer with uses 261's for storm cleanup. They're a great saw, hard to kill, cut all day. I bought the 291 for home use to replace an older 024. Similar, but yeah, you can tell the difference when running them but both are great for who they're meant for
@earthandbloom Жыл бұрын
You got that right! Used for what they are designed for, they will last a good while!

Also a few things to mention when comparing the two. 291 13k free rev 3.76hp. 261 14k free rev 4hp.

Good info! Thanks for adding that, I knew I’d miss a few things.

You forgot to mention that the 261 and pro series have adjustable bar oil pump, not F Boss series. This allows more flexibility for bar size, temperature, and type of workload

Great comparison video my friend. I’m big Husqvarna fan and where my knowledge stands mostly with and of course once upon a time Jonsered . Stihl is a awesome saw as well. Cheers 👌🏻🔥🇨🇦

Thanks! I’m really liking our new 572, but grew up on with stihls. Can’t go wrong with any pro saw! 🇨🇦🇨🇦

Best saw is definitely a sharp one. What think of that 572. I thinking adding one come spring. I really like my 372. My 395 need some work so need a backup saw

That's the truth! And I really like it, would defiantly buy it again. It make's me want to get the 592.

Question for you. Do you have a favorite online parts site for stihl. Tried a cheap oil pump for my ms250 not a great part. Any help would be appreciated.
@earthandbloom Жыл бұрын
Usually for stihl parts I’ll order from the local dealer, I know the last stihl pump I priced was crazy. Around 150-175 if I remember right!

those are a throw away lol throw them my way i rebuild 271 and 291 all day easy . rebuild ms290 to 390 all the time the jug holding down the bearings is nothing new stihl has done it for years
@earthandbloom12 күн бұрын
Easy yes, but compared to a to Pro model, it's much more involved. All the companies have done it for years. Cheaper to manufacture.
