Great video mate. Evo X has a twin scroll turbo, Ralliart is single, X has forged internals to handle higher boost pressure and the brakes aren't interchangeable as well. One of the things that the RA has better is the gear ratio and uses the Evo IX rear end (hence no S-AWC). This is why you see RA's putting down impressive 1/4 mile times at same HP level as an Evo but on twisties S-AWC rules.
@JacksonStrain4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Stephen, I have been told by a few Australian workshops that specialise in the 4B11T that it's the exact same engine internally found in either the Ralliart or the Evo X. Not sure if it's different in other countries though as there is some differences between the Evo 9 here and in the U.S as here they do come with AYC but I've heard over there they don't? Who knows though Mitsubishi seemed to do weird things for certain markets around the world it seems

@@JacksonStrain Mitsu is definitely weird which I why I love them. I just googled up to refresh myself and I'm wrong...they both have forged pistons and cast rods. I believe it's the ratio on the rack and pinion that makes the turning circle so much bigger on the Evo and that's part of what gives it such sharp handling. Count how many tunrs from dead center to fully turned one way on the steering wheel. You should be able to turn ralliart a little bit more

$18k for a Ralliart with turbo, AWD and dual-clutch 6-speed automatic with paddle flaps. Or $50k for a wide body version with less boot room and non-foldable seats 🤔 I don’t think the Evo-X is necessarily ‘for men’, it’s more like a slightly faster and less practical Ralliart. Shouldn’t be $50k.

An important thing to mention is that the Ralliart and the Evo X actually have different chassis, the Evo X chassis is stiffer and that is also how the fuel doors, and rear fender arches differ. Also, no the engines are not the same. Every single internal is different, all forged on the Evo, all cast on the Ralliart, and I do believe there are some block differences too, as the 2.0T Genesis has a 4B11t also but its the weaker, non performance version that is shared with the Ralliart and other World Cars, Mitsubishi always gives special treatment to the Evo line for good reason.

I've got a Ralliart in North America and use it as a daily driver. I flush the SST trans every 40,000km. I've had zero issues with it. I'm over 180,000km on the vehicle now. I should mention that it's mostly stock with the exception of intake and AMS boost pill with tune. The torque range is actually better than the EVO (begins to peak near 2500 - 3000 rpm) which makes city driving fun. This is due to the single scroll turbo (stock turbo). The Ralliart was half of the cost of the EVO X in the USA in the used car market. I purchased a 2014 for about $10,000 USD. With the differences being so marginal outside of suspension in terms of potential it was an easy decision. Those that spend the dollars for the EVO are likely either truly wanting to race or just want the bragging rights. The value vs performance the Ralliart is tough to beat. I've seen a few Ralliarts in the 500-600hp range. They won't corner as well as an EVO as they have a little more body roll in turns but still handle well. They are plenty capable. A good driver can make up for those differences easily. In a summary EVO=the extreme sport racer, Ralliart=the hobbyist street racer.

It will never quite get there due to steering handling a chassis stiffness but you can definitely make it pretty close

That is the one thing I absolutely hate about my Evo x It’s all the other lancers that look similar to it And all these P platers putting fart cannons on there mums lancers etc Mitsubishi never should have ever done a Ralliart lancer Takes away from the specialness of the Evo x
@JacksonStrain3 жыл бұрын
To each their own, the Ralliart is a great bang for buck car that gets people into the scene. Very similar to the WRX - STI or Skyline GTT - GTR I know a lot of people who started with base lancers then moved to Ralliarts and then lastly to an Evo
@chloespencer86323 жыл бұрын
@@JacksonStrain I live with Ralliart in a way But seeing lancers just takes a little special ness away

@JacksonStrain4 ай бұрын
That's definitely a bonus for you then as you can usually pick up a Ralliart a fair bit cheaper than an Evo and here in Australia they're P plate legal (learner driver basically) where as the Evo isn't. So they're very popular first or second cars
@imgidi62063 жыл бұрын
Even the paint is different?😂😂 As long as the colour codes are different, the colour will also be different The may both look black but the not, you can’t say an evo x black always come out the same And from my research, these cars are the same It’s just that one was made for performance, other wise, the both have mivec engines The mistubishi lancer rallairt and evo x are both the part of the tenth generation of the evolution series
@JacksonStrain3 жыл бұрын
Hey mate yep the paint is completely different, not sure if you watched the video or not but I showed the difference being that the Evo black which is a different paint code and is called phantom black and looks different in different lighting where the Ralliart black is just a normal gloss black. Also yes they're different cars with totally different chassis and many small changes hence why I made this video. The Ralliart isn't part of the Evolution series and it doesn't say Evolution anywhere on it
@pinunotv60023 жыл бұрын

Front wheel drive, non turbo doesn't have a dual clutch gearbox and possibly more as I'm not sure 100% of all differences. The Ralliart is turbo, awd, and has a dual clutch gearbox

@@JacksonStrain yes you are right but for me back then I was just starting out to work with a weak salary and now when I had money to buy a proper new evo I discovered that Mitsubishi killed it in 2015. I was screwed and even a used one here in my country still costs not less than 22000$!!! So I just sucked my pride and bought a new Eclipse cross 2019 with the turbo SAWD 1.5L engine. Not regretting it but if the CVT can handle extra power I will upgrade the engine.
@ericlloyd7981 Жыл бұрын
Great now let's see if you can "show and tell" the whole world again the differences between a stock evo and your evo, instead of just showing off all your upgrades in this video which isn't even a realistic comparison.
@JacksonStrain Жыл бұрын
Not sure what you're upset about mate I showed the differences between the two cars as much as possible and didn't have access to a stock Evo as obviously I've modded mine along the way of owning it Did I not show the differences in boot size? Body panels? Front seats? Folding rear seats, brakes? Bumpers ect ect Sorry this video I spent time making that almost everyone seemed to appreciate wasn't up to your standards though 🤷♂️
