I am doing a course on personality development and learnt that there are four types of personality 1) go getters 2) the socialisers 3) rule abiding perfectionist 4) the supporters . Then when I was doing some research on Google i saw 1) sanguine 2)phlegmatic 3)choleric 4) melancholic personalities. Now this was New to me and I'm confused that what I learnt and what I saw in Google are some with different names or are these are completely different from one another. Please help me understand. Thank you

4:09 this right here is a strange argument. Wouldn't your personality determine how you respond to reading that and whether or not you believe you align with it. The point you're making only applies if anyone could read about ANY of the 4 types and if someone tells you that it's about you, you integrate that personality into yourself due to suggestion. Otherwise the definitions are circular and require the reader to already be aligned with that personality before integration of it which means that's already their personality.

Q. What are some instances where you've been able to help someone overcome a false fixed belief? Q. Do people who overcome a false fixed belief typically change quickly or is it typically a slow process? Q. In your experience, what percentage of people never really overcome a persistent false fixed belief? (e.g. someone trapped in a mania)? Appreciate your ministry, Brothers. Many thanks.

3:27 combination of flegmale and what? That's only one thing, you need at least two things to make a combination.

Why not bring a certified psychologist for this discussion? You're clearly not well informed about this stuff. Introversion and extraversion have nothing to do with anxiety or fear of people. Character traits are developed by addressing the negative ones within you and eliminating them. Their root is in your heart, as Jesus said. Positive character traits come by themselves after you clean your heart. Apostol paul talks about the fruits of a holy/righteous spirit. And it is important as christians or whatever religion to understand personality so you understand how you function. Both the positive and the negative traits. But it is really important to understand how to develop a positive, strong character which is the opposite of how you develop personality traits. If you impose on yourself positive character traits, you really only develop new layers to your personality, the mask layer and that is a very dangerous form of narcisism. A moral narcissim which develops a really white and pure mask (farisees). This is very common among religious types, but not necessarily, hitler also had a moral narcissism.

Thank you for engaging thoughtfully with Daniel Berger's discussion on personality and character. Your points raise important considerations regarding the distinction between inherent traits and those we develop over time through intentional action and spiritual growth. You're correct in noting that the Bible speaks to the transformation of our hearts, which in turn affects our character. As Jesus teaches, the heart is the wellspring from which our actions flow (Matthew 15:18-20). In addressing this, we must indeed be cautious not to adopt a superficial layer of 'moral narcissism,' as you've described, where outward appearances do not match the inward reality of the heart. Daniel Berger's perspective is not to dismiss the valuable insights provided by psychological sciences but to frame them within a biblical worldview that prioritizes spiritual transformation over mere personality adjustments. This approach emphasizes that true character change is holistic and rooted in the regeneration of the heart through the power of the Holy Spirit, as Paul discusses regarding the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). In this light, understanding our personality traits-both positive and negative-can be a tool for recognizing where we need God's grace to mold us more into His image. The goal is not to overlay these traits with "positive" ones artificially but to allow God's transformative work to naturally alter us from the inside out, leading to genuine character that reflects His goodness. Your engagement with this topic is invaluable, and it underscores the necessity of ongoing dialogue and discernment as we seek to align our understanding of self and character development with God's word. Thank you for adding depth to this conversation.

@@lifeovercoffee i would recommend you listen to Robert Sapolsky. He is a professor at Stanford. He is a biologist. Has some great lectures on Behavioral Biology. He has helped me understand better the Flesh, what Jesus talks about and also Apostol Paul when he talks about the deeds of the flesh (behavior of our biology). I don't know the exact biblical terminology in English as I am not a native English speaker and I've noticed the translation differs a bit in regards to some terms and ideas. I think science can be used as an excellent decoding key of the message found in scriptures. I don't like it when I encounter christians that disregard psychology because they don't know how to fit it into their understanding of the Bible. Also Sapolsky's study of animal/human biology/psychology has been rejected by some Christians as the deduction of his studies is a denial of free will. He doesn't believe in spiritual awakening so of course he would conclude we are biological automatons. If you listen to his extensive knowledge, you will reach the same logical conclusion. Also if you analyze Paul's words in Galatians 5, the deeds of the flesh denote a lack of free will in one's actions, you are ruled by instincts, or negative emotions that are nested in your hearts. If you look behind all those pathological manifestations, one can see the mechanisms that spring them into various patterns of behavior. There is obviously no free will. Those are forces that control us like marionettes. Through spiritual awakening or getting born again from the spirit, from the heart, one develops those fruits of the spirit and that infers the start of free will, getting control over the being, the spirit is in control, the one that is in marriage with Christ, the one that hears the whisper of the Holy one. Ironically this atheist has helped me better understand some ideas from the Bible :). So has Richard Dawkins, but that is another idea altogether.

There is a constant very high pitch irritating tone that is coming from somewhere and piercing through everything. Maybe you can't hear it unless you have speakers with a wide frequency range but it's very hard to watch as it is actually hurting my ears and very distracting.
