By the looks I have the white wire (house built 1997). I am remodeling kitchen. So should an electrician use the yellow 12/2 or stay with with the white wire which I believe it’s 14/2? The current wires are fed by 14/2. With the remodel I see them suing 14/2 as well. In other areas when adding outlets 12/2 was used to add outlets that was being fed by a 14/2.

I wish we had known about the soy in the white colored NM. A couple of squirrels got up into our attic and chewed the wires. Burned the whole house down and lost a lot of beloved pets in that one. We rebuilt and used BX everywhere. Never again will I live in a home with NM.
