This video speaks to why there's so much garbage on KZbin. A lot of people are copying off of each other just to make money. So, KZbin has become more of a money making platform instead of a channel full of uniqueness like it used to be.

My thumbnail is the 2nd 0-1M example, and you're 100% right about people using the same/similar concepts for thumbnails, although my video was posted before the other 0-1M examples you mentioned, I did get this format from a Ryan Trayhan video (Turning $0.01 Into $1,000 in 24 Hours) and used it for the 0-1M concept. Since this video I've been trying to improve the way I make my thumbnails, and after watching your video I'm sure I can do even better. Great video and information Collin, thanks 🙏🏼😁

I noticed the Aprilynne Alter one months ago. If you watch it, she literally copied his spoken hook/intro word for word. It’s interesting because she never went viral before/after that video. And none of her videos ever get spectacular views - her best video was a stolen hook and title which begs the question, how good really is she? 🤔

Nothing wrong with being "inspired" by other creators. Everyone wants successful videos. But no one should outright copy someone. Get some inspiration, then find a way to make your video at least slightly unique.

Wow 6:20 was eye opening. I always suspected this guy in the glasses fr VidIQ to be fraudulent in his 'advice' Copying thumbnail style is one thing. But he legit stole the content too. He recently did a livestream analysing channels thumbnails giving feedback and he didnt have much to offer. I wont be watching any of his vids going forward.

I like your take on this but as you said it's just using a proven formula that you know is going to work. It's called doing good market research and creating your video around a proven thumbnail and title strategy. Obviously as you say, it has to be unique to you and not a direct copy bit if it works, it works

She’s interviewed in the video yes. I think this thumbnail they did was unique enough by combining two different thumbnails and adding their own spin. The title being 1 word off from the successful video from 2 years ago is a bit pushing it IMO.

I'd like to know what value a thumbnail has when the person or whatever has a luminous glow around them. Seems to have become really common the last 6 months, but I think it looks sh*t. Also, the 'shocked/surprised/OMG' faces that seem to be on most thumbnails nowadays. Radioactive person looking like they just caught their parents going at it = guaranteed click, or so it would seem....

Usually though it's because those tips or advice/help works that's why. That's why I don't follow a bunch of KZbin help channels. I follow Nick Nimmin, Roberto Blake, creator insider and think media. They all offer something different and get their knowledge straight from people who work at youtube
