💔This disappearance and the one where it’s believed the young man ended up in a dumpster, was the catalyst for why my husband and I told our son that if he ever goes out drinking, our sweet boy is to call us and we will come get him. No taxi, no Uber, one of us. And thankfully we were provided with confirmation that he didn’t just nod and say “yeah sure” a few months ago when he got too drunk to drive for the first time. He called us at 2ish and his dad and I got up got dressed and went and got him and his car. He stayed at the bar until we got there and his father and I were able to sleep easy knowing he listened.

I work as a cleaner ( outdoors ) at the Harbourside estate in Bristol ! The missing posters are of course still pinned up at the site . Having gotten to know many local residents over the six or so years that I have worked there , including someone who has lived on one of the boats in the dock for many , many years , and it is that persons view who I would value the most as she has known about many things that go on in that area all around the Harbourside . Now , she obviously is not a detective , but does have years of experience of what goes on in those areas ! It is her view that most likely he went into the water , she has known it to happen many , many times over the years , and there are possible ways why a body has not been found , she has told me that if a body gets snagged up on something it may never resurface ! It's truly tragic , and heartbreaking for his family and friends , our hearts really do go out to them ! It's also tragic for us as well , the people who live and work in Bristol ! The fact that he had an airtag on him and yet they still haven't found him is concerning. According to Apple's own site, they are trackable for up to 800ft outdoors and 100ft indoors, and you can get them to play a sound to help you find them - however they aren't waterproof - only splash resistant, so I guess this may lend credence to him ending up in a body of water?

The main theory seems to be that he ended up drowning in the River Avon sometimes after his last CCTV sighting at 3:40am while walking up the Bennett Way slip road towards Hotwells. If so, how come his phone was still traceable to that adress in Granby Hill at 5:40am or that it remained active until 6:44am? If he ended up in a body of water wouldn’t his phone have died way earlier? (iPhone 11 can only withstand being submerged in six feet of water for a maximum of 30min). If he indeed drowned around the time of his last sighting does it mean that he was somehow separated from his phone? Meaning that he could have dropped it on dry land before ending himself in the water?

This is strange. While it's true that young, drunk guys + bodies of water often = drowning, there's usually a body that turns up after a few days. Human bodies normally float. That's why nefarious folks who want to dispose of bodies in lakes or rivers usually weigh them down with concrete blocks or something. If you're trapped in a car, that's different, because the body is enclosed and can't float up, but all indications are that he was on foot.

Apparently it is possible for the mobile service provider to be able to tell roughly _how_ the phone powered down. A phone will gracefully log off from the network if it shuts down cleanly, i.e. if it's manually powered down, or it shuts itself down in orderly fashion when the battery gets too low. Bear in mind modern smartphones do not have removable batteries so it couldn't be turned off that suddenly unless it broke. In this case, those particular details are not known to the public.

This case is à heart wrenching case. And what a missed opportunity with that AirTag, through no fault of anyone. That must be incredibly frustrating for his family. I can’t imagine what they’re going through.

It is true that some young men fall into water if walking home & drunk. Friends should be going home together. However I don't think Jack fell in water. The last ping was well past any body of water. Jack went past open areas of water early in his journey., so if he was disoriantated would he of not fallen in the open bank early on. The bridges have barriers so not an area where you can just fall into the water. One cctv footage appears he has a jog or run. He heads to the road and not the footpath on the bridge. People don't tend to run if they are really drunk. People at the party need to be questioned, and access to their phones. Where are his friends from this party? They've been quiet, too quiet. Apple needs to give the family information from Jack's tag. Just my opinion but something doesn't sit right & there must be some foul play at hand. The Police have made assumptions here. I hope the OSullivans find Jack, this is desperately sad and my heart goes out to Jack's family.

Is it just me or is SIX MONTHS a bit too long to wait to retrieve cctv & dashcam footage 🤨 Presumably they were asking for further footage than what they already had gathered but even still surely the call should have gone out far sooner. This stuff gets overwritten and deleted.

I wonder what made him change his mind about calling a cab. He wasn't too drunk to text his parents about it then he starts walking and seems to get lost. Many cases also involve one friendly, educated young man who breaks away from the crowd and walks around a city until he disappears or is found to have supposedly walked into water. I know they're usually treated as a self inflicted tragedy but something tells me there's more to a lot of these cases

Great factual and accurate video, hope lots of people see it! I don't understand how the police and many people are so fixated that he's in the water. If he did fell in the river how come his phone was active at a specific address at 6 AM??

Has anybody ever told you they love your voice and accent, both? Besides your through research abilities, which are evident, your shines on. As well your complications, the way to carefully put together your documentaries to not lose us in some of these quite complicated scenarios, is greatly appreciate. All that being said, I like your voice and accent so much I would listen to you reciting the ABC’s I am very fine is you’re channel. Brilliant!

So sad. Most likely scenario is that Jack went into the water. It happens a lot and if you live in a watery area you get an idea for how easy it is when under the influence, tired or disorientated to lose your footing and fall in. The cold water disables people v quickly.

It's a pity Catherine didn't consider whether sending her son to a party in this day and age in an unknown location with people he didn't know and where his drink was probably spiked couldn't produce fatal results.

Have the police evn investigated the others who attended the party or the address his phone last pinged at? Seems like they're looking everywhere except the most likely places or people.

Very good documentary, I feel that all the friends at the party, should be questioned again if they had not already been so and the exact position of where Jack’s phone signal is of great importance, The last call that Jack received when he spoke and said hello but was abruptly cut off is the important one. I feel that person holds the key as to what has happened to Jack. As these were new friends and Jack didn’t know them very well they need looking at again

In America a jumper is a dress and a trainer is a bra for a pre-teen girl so when I hear these things while engrossed in a story it always sort of startles me and for a split second I go "What did they say he was wearing? Ooooh, right." I know, I know. It's this odd little thing but I suppose that when your brain has something so ingrained it automatically puts on the brakes because everything suddenly makes less sense. I hope this man is found safe and sound. But I know the reality and I would be happy for him to just be found at all for his parent's sanity. Losing a child is the worst with the exception of losing a child and not knowing what befell them. That is a punishment that no parent should ever have to go through.

According to the news report, by Bauer Media News, jack tried flagging down two cars or taxis? If this is true then it is highly likely jack got into a car with someone who appeared friendly or genuine but were indeed opportunists, with nefarious intention

Sadly, I think it's highly likely that he ended up in the water. There are some truly awful stats about young men falling into water, especially after nights out. In Manchester in the early noughties, they briefly thought that a serial killer was on the loose as so many young men were being fished out of the canal. Unfortunately, it turned out that the victims had misjudged how badly affected they were by alcohol and / or drugs (as young men often do) and had lost their balance and fallen in.
