GERMANS,SULTANE ZENJIBAR AND PORTUGUESE took our people to fight their wars. Thank you for interviewing this community of African origins. I had the opportunity to inyerview them in late 1990. There was a lady who spoke fluent English and she told me that her late husband was a government officer in Colombo. According to the children and parents, the children were never being discriminated and also the adults were so comfortable to live with evryone . Sri Lanka must be the only country that Africans were not discriminated. When we visted them they we so gwnerous and and treatwd us with sweets and tea like any other Sri Lankan. One of my good friends did a P. hd study on their music under Ethno Musicology. Thanks once again.

Actually, Google the story of a King in India who felt sorry to see an African Slave boy he saw with a Arab merchant that came to trade with his Kingdom and asked to buy him. When the king(rahput) died he named this boy, who grew into a young man, as his successor. An African Slave boy who grew up to be a king in India. His shrine still exists today. Google it!

Thank you Kish for this beautiful video. I like it, how our brothers and sisters reflect also the kindness and the hospitality of Sri Lankas people, even if it is not easy. I feel real happiness, gratitude and inner joy in a great simplicity. They are opened mind. We can be poor, but when we know that people don't have hate in them because of our difference of physical looking, life is then sweet, easier and beautiful. The driver was fantastic. Indeed everyone who spoke to you were very opened, kind and sincere. The 2nd dance has some similitude with one of our dance called "Maloya" in the Island Réunion where I am from. The women who first opened the dance, was dancing like a queen.. Beautiful!! May our Lord JESUS CHRIST bless them all and yourself abundantly! 🙏❤️

Kish, what you did was beautiful... I knew very little about Afro-Sri Lankans... we need to appreciate all of the ethnicities that live and call this wonderful country home. Just as majority ethnic groups in Sri Lanka, we must recognize and appreciate all the minority groups of people and their customs and cultures... Sri Lanka is a very special place where people can live in harmony. All the communal conflicts were in the past created by the politicians, not by people. There are other minorities such as Tamils, Muslims, Burgers, Malays, Javanese, Telugus, Africans, and Arabic decent. It's time to give their true recognition and preserve their heritage. But the most important thing to remember is that they all are Sri Lankans and must be followed by the prefix of "Sri Lankan - " to their ethnicities. Again, thanks a lot for your efforts in educating us all.

Is Swahili widely spoken in Mozambique?
@afrakanaswahilitv55202 ай бұрын
@janj6791 >>>Yes, and more so in the North. Mozambique liberation forces under Mondlane and Samora Machel wa headquartered and trained in Tanzania. In addition almost 99% of Mozambique are Bantu people of Mtu/Ntu and therefore understands all use Swahili Bantu words. Swahili is an upper Niger Benue language that has alot of Kemet and original languages of the past. For instance a lion in Kiswahili/Swahili is referred to as "Simba" while in kemet is SMB as the vowels of a, e, I, o, U were not yet incorporated in the language. Other words like Brazilian Samba basically comes from the Kiswahili word "Sambaza" meaning make moves, distribute, make flow as the way you move your body parts in a dance.
