*1-1 Mentorship Information: Price & Structure (Maximum Capacity = 20 Clients Per Year)* It's an absolute pleasure to film these KZbin videos, and I feel fortunate to receive an abundance of meaningful messages every week, but I am unfortunately faced with the disappointing reality of turning away the vast majority of people who want to work together. I have significantly limited availability and can only support twenty people per year because I do not offer one-off calls or drop-in consulting sessions. Twenty individuals might not sound like maximum capacity, but the last few years of teaching have taught me the importance of maintaining tight energetic boundaries if I want to keep uploading these free videos in addition to serving my current clients to the best of my ability in 2024. To minimise confusion and enhance transparency, I've spent several hours writing this ridiculously long comment to help you decide if my Inner Work Mentorship is the right choice for your development & what you could reasonably expect from working closely together. Please take the time to read this service description before contacting me on Instagram… or feel free to stop reading right now if you’re not interested in my fees, session structure, client expectations, etc. ... *READ BEFORE SCROLLING FURTHER:* I'm interested in long-term change and structural transformation, which is why I've never offered one-off sessions. Complex issues cannot be resolved in a few hours, but we likewise need to define an upper limit for containment and collaboration. I've learned that deep and enduring self-integration requires at least four months of immersive effort. Why four months? It's enough weekly contact for us to work through multiple complex issues and developmental possibilities, but short enough to mitigate against unconscious co-dependency and motivational stagnation. I'm currently accepting a maximum of two new clients per month - message me after reading the following section to check my availability. ... *HOW I WORK & WHO I WORK WITH* Unlike other coaches and teachers who take an understandably more relaxed approach to healing and integration, my mentorships are characteristically intense. This is a highly-demanding, high-investment process which requires our consistent combined effort over a period of four months. If we were to start working together, I would reasonably expect you to be excited to show up for a minimum of 10+ hours of self-motivated transformative practice per week (daily reading, fitness routine, creative exercises, spiritual reflection, etc.) while also maintaining full-sobriety (no drink, no drugs, no cigarettes, no vapes). These strict standards of discipline and sobriety are plainly unsuitable for most people in most situations - even genuinely motivated individuals who resonate with my KZbin videos may not be the right match for four months of structured mentorship. If you want to get deeper, I've noticed that there's a certain type of ‘temperament' & 'timing’ to get the most out of me. I'm interested in alert, creative and purpose-driven individuals who aspire to exceptional standards of self-maturation and would enjoy the feeling of going through week-on-week of progressively stacked transformative experiences for a third of a year: my ideal client is somebody who is willing to bring forward their internal complexity with a sense of courage and transparency with the intention of nothing less than full-spectrum transformation & rapid acceleration on their personal path. I am yet to discover another supportive figure who offers something comparable to this mentorship: a four-month, structured yet flexible 1-1 container which is simultaneously therapeutic, academic and action-oriented; with primary focus placed on tangible improvements in your felt sense of self-knowledge and self-integration; in addition to making consistent and meaningful progress towards your unique goals and mentorship aspirations. I prioritise contact, compassion and accountability, which means that your work never really 'ends' at the end of your session. You can reasonably expect to be fed dozens of customised reading suggestions and follow-on perspectives outside of the formal sessions via friendly and informal messenger contact, where I am active and available four days per week to cultivate an intimate personal connection while likewise enhancing your positive momentum via accountability check-ins and additional support as required. By way of conclusion for what feels like an extraordinarily long comment and service description, I feel compelled to once more emphasise that working directly with me is unrealistic for most people in most situations. I often support people who are accustomed to wrestling with the emotional challenges associated with working through complex wounds in previous therapeutic relationships before we begin our coaching work together. Even individuals without 'hard trauma' can expect moments of pressurised darkness and heaviness during periods of shadow contact as you begin to restructure your personal unconscious. We will be exploring your psyche and soma at scale and depth, and it will be your responsibility to keep me informed about the emotional texture of your internal reality, especially if you encounter negatively charged experiences, and I will of course do everything in my power to support you through the hard times as we integrate the darkness and move forwards together. KZbin is a wonderful place for me to share free research resources and offer accessible inner work invitations; my private mentorships, however, are the place for collaborative partnership and emotional security as we identify, navigate and restructure oftentimes confronting and challenging conscious and unconscious physical, emotional and mental material. Ultimately, this is a highly-demanding but highly-rewarding process which requires the best of our shared intentions. ... *SESSION STRUCTURE & FEES:* The total fee for an Inner Work Mentorship (including 12 x 2 hr sessions) is £7,400 GBP or approximately $9,400 USD. This is my only coaching programme, and my mentorship pricing is liable to adjustment over time. Each private session lasts two hours, and is facilitated via Telegram video call at an ideal time for both of us. Your mentorship extends over a linear four-month period, with a total of twenty-four hours of structured session time, in addition to four days per week of unlimited messenger availability for accountability updates, voice note exchanges and informal calls upon occasion. I do not work on Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays, but I am fully-available across all timezones for regular calls and messenger contact on Thursday - Sunday. If you’ve scrolled this far, and resonate with what I’m offering, I invite you to message me on Instagram. It would be my pleasure to start exploring your goals and intentions in real-time. IMPORTANT: I am an intentionally independent coach, and not a licensed therapist or associated with any professional bodies or coaching institutions, and therefore enjoy the freedom to collaborate with my clients across all areas of life in an intimate, direct and highly involved coaching style. I work with no more than twenty people per year, and am currently accepting a maximum of two new clients per month. I also manage my own inbox and do not use automated systems or employ people to pretend to be me on Instagram, which means that it usually takes four to six weeks for me to respond to new messages and begin the interview process. Although my approach takes time, I hope you ultimately appreciate my personal emphasis on authentic and confidential communication from the very beginning of our relationship. I once again encourage you to message me immediately if you want to start working together within the next two months - bump yourself to the top of my inbox, and I’ll send you some voice notes to get our conversation started.

When you mentioned the Netflix thing early in the video, I immediately thought of Jordan Peterson's rule of life "Treat yourself like someone you are responsible for helping." It's so easy for us to forget that we are responsible not only for our actions, but for our overall wellbeing. It really is a journey of self-discovery, experimentation, and winning the levels of our inner world. Thank you for the video, this series is amazing.

Wow. Wow. Wow. Just wow. I think my life just changed in a big way. Your thoughts on self discipline are so beautifully whole. And the unconditional love piece- how unrealistic it is to believe I could offer unconditional love to myself or others when I haven't even received much conditional love- you hit on such a critical and nuanced intersection where this concept and trauma meet. I've never heard anyone who teaches unconditional love speak about this and it explains why I've been driven to be an unconditional love offerer, and also why I've continued to be confused about how boundaries could co-exist with congruence. Brilliant! Your work is a tremendous contribution. Thank you.

*INNER WORK ESSENTIALS - EXPECTED LEARNING OUTCOMES (what you'll get from these videos)* On completion of this series, the student should expect to be: 1) Auto-therapeutic. The student will feel generally competent in their ability to select and self-administer the most suitable therapeutic modality on a full-spectrum basis: ranging from the somatic resolution of central childhood wounds to the everyday self-regulation of symptomatic stress responses such as anxiety and addiction. 2) Closer towards baseline integral consciousness (Wilber). Through their combined efforts of rigorous self-inquiry and critical engagement with recommended reading material, the student will have significantly developed their intellectual and spiritual maturity to a noticeable degree, in likely correlation with their depth of engagement. 3) Holistically Empowered. The student will enjoy a meaningful expansion of their physical, emotional, sexual, and creative expression as a result of their healing and expansion work. In short, they will be healthier, happier and feel more complete. 4) Self-educational. The student will have felt organically inspired to move beyond free video content and create a self-structured learning arc which takes maximum advantage of at least several dozen inner working books mentioned within the course. The student will consequently enjoy lifelong learning habits including: critical research skills, long-term focus, and the ability to know when to stop studying. *MY TEACHING INTENTIONS & STATEMENT OF DIRECTION* 1) Provide the student with an informed and representative overview of multiple complementary therapeutic modalities to support their self-healing process; with special encouragement placed upon the auto-therapeutic application of holistic healing modalities for particular problems at particular stages in their journey. 2) Nourish the intellectual and spiritual maturation of the student by familiarising them with the most exciting, challenging and credible concepts in developmental psychology, consciousness studies and transpersonal metaphysics; with central emphasis being placed upon comparative analysis of multiple complex theories. 3) Encourage an empowered and more authentic sense of individual self-expression as a combined outcome of the two previous intentions, plus the application of holistic lifestyle principles, self-educational practises, and foundational healthy habits.

'Self love' has been thrown around so much since getting sober, yet no one has truly defined it. Starting from rock bottom after my abusive relationship and learning how to believe in and love myself, was a difficult task. I have come a long way since then. But it's trying to pull myself out of those anxiety ridden moments to leave my home and be around others... Honestly, I am terrified of being in any kind of romantic relationship. Still have tons of healing to do, but I'm growing every day.

@Morbidme76 if it's any consolation, I know how that feels. the idea of being in a romantic relationship always sounds more appealing than the reality of being in one to me. but it is scary, because you're very vulnerable and you don't know if you'll be enough for the other person, because of how difficult it is to even love yourself with respect and compassion. In that way, the easier thing would be to just spend more time alone. I still have healing and growth to do too, and you're not alone with that fear.

@@jordanthornton Absolutely it does!! ❤️ It is sad how that's not common knowledge. Then again it comes down to how each of us are raised. I had a loving father until he fell into serious drugs. When I was about 9 yrs old. Our relationship was on and off until his death in '05. My mother is and has always been our rock. My siblings and I are grateful to have her. 🙂 With that being said, I didn't seek therapy to try to heal from childhood SA until I was 37 yrs old. I was literally losing my mind with such deep sadness and hating myself. I learned how to change my thinking in turn to change my life. It takes time and repetition. I was actually happy with who I was!! In 2018 all that came crashing down. Losing my fiance is one of the hardest things I've had to go through. Not only because of his death, but all the pain and suffering that we endure. I will make it. I promise.

Thank you Jordan, the way you put this interaction of feminine and masculine energies makes so much sense. I have always struggled to find the right balance in applying it, many times I am not sure when I should give myself a gentle but firm push, to honour my word to myself no matter what (which I always do when others are involved) and build that respect aspect, or when indeed rest and healing are deeply needed and the best thing is to be more flexible and understanding. I have been studying some compassion focused therapy lately and their idea of compassion does have the masculine side integrated, strength is one of its attributes. At the moment I am going through one of the very dark rough patches and this balance is so particularly hard to navigate when I can barely function. I tend to become very punitive (superegoic) which adds what some call "the second arrow" to the pain...the suffering of self judgement..

I agree - eating ice cream and watching Netflix all day isn't an act of self-love. However, while one who is grappling with the mental/physical ailment(that's assuming there is a cause for one's suffering), it could be the only resource available to them at the time. I'm seeing that day in bed as a resource to regulate themselves back to their baseline/ less dysregulated state. We could argue there are more "productive", "efficient", and even "self-loving" ways to get regulated but, unless, one has successfully broken the pattern of thought-emotion-behaviour many times, a more respectful way of treating oneself may not be available to them. Totally agree with the masculine and feminine energy work too as a groundwork for a healthy relationship with yourself and behaviours that follow. Beautiful work, Jordan! New subscriber here ❤️

This concept of balancing compassion and respect as a form of love plays a particularly significant role in parenting, and overlooked and misunderstood by many. Neglectful adults are but neglected children raised by neglectful adults. Could you please recommend some books or make a video that focuses on follow through? I am sure many can relate to the inability to follow through on positive habits, routines and plans. In the distant past, I (motivated by all the wrong reasons) developed the habits of getting up early and exercising, so I find these fairly easy to get back into. But I just can’t seem to stick to a healthy evening routine. I think it comes down to my inability to regulate my emotions? I can’t really figure this one out. What I do know is that doing all that work to make the unconscious conscious eliminated my desperation (not to be confused with an inherent need) to achieve, look a certain way, have a partner, but without these unconscious motives pushing me I find it very difficult to gain momentum and move forward. I feel stuck.

I just finished an intense shadow alchemy program structured through masculine and feminine archetypes, healing and uniting my inner family. I’ve also been specifically exploring Devine Eros as an area to begin focusing in. I really enjoyed your video on Addiction and Spirituality… I’m 2.5 years sober and had my initial spiritual awakening through working the 12 steps. This topic is one I’ve explored with a personal curiosity. The information in this video is excellent. I remember when a sponsee challenged me a while back on my advice of “doing the loving thing for herself” I hadn’t realized that that advice wasn’t as clear as I had assumed… she pointed out that to her that meant doing what felt good in the moment and not necessarily what was in her best interest. My on-the-spot response was to act in accordance with what she would advise a child or dear friend to do in a similar situation… but I really like what you’ve shared in this video. It will help me as a continue to learn the art of balancing the inner conflicts within myself and will also help me to guide those I work with. From what I’ve seen so far you are providing amazingly helpful information. It’s so beautiful to see.

I've been dealing with the same. My healing started off pretty productive and all of a sudden it stalled when I wanted to achieve something bigger than myself. I ask myself internally which evolution of me is holding me back. I almost have a Fawn like sensation. I suspect it's a part of my inner child and being told I'm not good enough and insignificant because most of our parents were/are very self absorbed making everyone including their children insignificant. And as children we take that in as a personal aspect of the self as we develop. Identify it I hope is my first step to healing that part of my inner child. Through meditation and as he talks about reparenting your inner child in a way our parents could not. Give the child inside significance and self respect so we may begin to represent this new aspect into the self. I hope this helps 🙏 Happy healing 😊

We do think that sometimes sitting on the couch eating ice cream can be the most self respectful thing to do XD But yes, absolutely agree that it's important to ask that question...is what I'm doing right now showing ourselves respect? We sometimes get crushed by our own values 😅 because it can be pretty difficult to live up to them, especially when you're having very different values between system members and the communication isn't always great. On the other hand, knowing that we don't just want to survive our trauma for us to feel better, but to become a better person in the world has given our healing journey more meaning. We often struggled to find motivation to go on for ourselves, it's easier to find Motivation for working towards a goal that feels bigger than just us. We just have to be careful to make the steps small enough so we can actually take them. And not condemning ourselves when we fall short of our own expectations 👀

Very normal process which gradually falls away as we return to centre - sometimes these depressive lows can be signals that major elements of life are calling for review (work, relationship, accommodation) Great to hear of your progress so far 🌲

Couldn't of said it better myself, for me the negative episodes are far more frequent than the positive so trying to find the happy medium where the positive starts to outweigh the negative is going to take a lot of inner work and self healing.

This is a very interesting video and is a topic we have all struggled with. I agree, that self compassion and self respect are solid practicable ways of actively loving one's self. This is until the Self (Divine Center) is known and realized. The ego looks within and sees nothing but wounds and darkness. Like Jung stated many times, it takes a considerable moral effort to face and integrate one's shadow. The good news is that after integrating the shadow, Self love flows effortlessly from the Divine Center or Soul, which is also the circumference of the Being. This is because one of the characteristics of the Divine Center is Love. You are Love. This love radiates from the inside out. I realize this is at a more advanced stage of growth. It is actually very difficult to make the journey across the ocean or into the pits of hell (whatever myth you relate to) but effortless Self love is one of the many gifts that manifests freely from the Divine Center, that is, if one is successful at making it through the black hole and to the Divine Center within. Sri Aurobindo called the personal evolving Soul the "Psychic Being". I call it the Soul or the Divine Center. Self love looks and feels different depending on the stage of growth of the person. At first the ego struggles to love his/her self. This process reverses once one has tapped into the Divine Center. Then the Self loves flows from the inside out. Your teaching is authentic and true. You are providing a practical and truthful way for a person to practice self love, which is absolutely essential Great work! love your content.

I love the dynamic of the two, and how they come out in various aspects of our lives (for example, I was someone who lifted weights at the gym 6 days a week, not taking any time to really rest/active recovery. of course, hurt my back which allowed me the experience of learning ways to balance these energies)

Jordan, what is you take on, Advaita Vedantic Philosophy - the concept of Non-Dualism - how we are all "Creators" - experiencing the sensation of "Separation" - in an Infinite Universe, of Divine Creation: "All" of us going through; Cycles of Bondage, towards the reclamation of Self-Realization?
@jordanthornton
@jordanthornton 2 жыл бұрын
Non-dualistic philosophy has many benefits and drawbacks depending upon the baseline level of consciousness of the person encountering the idea-set. It's a beautiful philosophy for the higher levels, but I don't find much use in the theory in a day-to-day sense (there is also potential spiritual bypassing drawbacks which aren't the fault of the philosophy, but rather how people engage with the ideas) - hope this helps!
@telaporta4790
@telaporta4790 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your response! I was fortunate to study Philosophy from the age of 14 at a Liberal Arts private school in Santa Monica, California, in a classroom of 4 students. After many years of searching for "Higher Truths" - and with the use of, Hegel's pyramid, I was eventually led to, Advaita Vedanta, and its different branches; the Yoga Sutras, Ayurvedic Medicine, Vedic Astrology, The Laws of Cause & Effect, and so on. I would definitely agree with you, in the sense that, "it is a beautiful philosophy for the Higher Levels," but where I would add, is that it CAN be used, in the day-to-day sense, too. The embodiment of wisdom, just through Yoga alone, can align individuals to miraculous states of homeostasis; clarity of “truth”, heightened cognitive awareness; control of mind, and multi-dimensional balance. There is empirical data from numerous neuroscientists proving so. If you have not, I highly recommend checking out, Dr. Joe Dispenza’s work and theories. His neuroscience findings have ironically led him less “West”, and more “East”. In a world where humans are becoming increasingly more "complex" in their Ego-Matrix, especially, with an endless buffet of information to absorb, from my humble point of view; I believe that humans are needing more tools to embody wisdom. The "Mind" trying to figure out the "Mind", usually leads to more of the same - more "Mind". America has around 49% of its population on some form of pharmaceutical opioid (anti-depressant), which I believe could be the result of an over-active and over-worshipping of the “Intellect”. All-in-all, I'm sure we would both agree, that there will always be the Objective, and the, Subjective when it comes to these perspectives and matters. We are certainly at a rich inflection point in our evolution, and so, I commend and cheer those who are putting in the work to make a difference - like yourself! Anyway, these are my humble thoughts! Please keep up the positive work!
