The living world is made up of complex biological systems. At the level of the individual, the most complex of these systems is the human brain. But the process of evolution has produced even more complex systems, such as tropical reefs and rainforests, that are made up of millions of interacting species. UCSD Professor of Ecology Christopher Wills explores how this complexity evolved and what genetic and ecological processes complex systems have in common. Series: "Evolution Matters" [3/2008] [Science] [Show ID: 13546]

a very good lecture. his explanation of frequency dependence was especially good. i also enjoyed his book the Darwinian Tourist which i just finished reading.

this simply discuss genetic variation--not evolution in the sense diversity in the making.

ronie bayron I don't think u don't understand u understand how evolution work its not like There is one animal. Then in the next generation they turn into half of the other animal. Then in next generation they turn into another animal. It happens slowly over generation. If u compare the starting and end result u will see they are vastly different. However if u compare a generation and the generation after it u wont easily find any difference.Evolution takes a lot of time and lots of generation.

Okay, if you think evolution is a joke, what is your alternative theory and what evidence do you have to support it?

@gulbirk Evolutionary theory is a scientific theory. Evolution is also a fact.Theories NEVER become facts. Scientific theories and facts are entirely different things. Scientific theories explain facts. Creationism is neither a scientific theory nor a scientific hypothesis. Creationism is a faith-based religious belief, unsupported by facts and the scientific method.

Why isn't it possible for things to become complex without a designer?

i dont agree with any sort of theory these people make up. First do some research on dna. For instance your body has the ability to adapt to its environment. People are a certain way because generation after generation lets say for instance were farmers, had built up more physical attributes due to thier environment. Being a certain way has nothing to do with genetics only to a certain degree in my opinion the out come of a human being hapens thru lifestyle not genetics.

actually, evolution consists of a bunch of nearly all scientists that live on this planet.... sad for you, if your too deluted to regonize that!
