well done Marco. I've noticed a few complaints on the forums from people indicating that the game is too hard, but in most of these cases, the players do NOT spend the time to educate themselves on these variables, even at a basic level. Then, they complain that the NPCs are extreme bullet sponges, when in fact, if they simply changed their build, they would be a lot more effective. However, to be balanced, it would be helpful if the devs gave a bit more of a tutorial on this point as many people who are new to the game are going to struggle initially and perhaps get frustrated and give up...

Awesome breakdown! One thing that I noticed that needs to be taken into consideration for dps is reload time. That will be significantly more complicated, but pretty important to a dps stat. This will be especially misleading for bolt action and shotguns.

Nearly identical DPS calculations in Path of Exile. They're known in that game as 'increased' multipliers and 'more' multipliers over there. They really don't tell you which is which in either game, but this video helped with identifying which stats/talents/mods are best. Thx for the calculator too!

Well done Marco! Looking forward to another episode of "Math with Marco"! I just wanted to say I play Warframe a lot. They mostly use multiplicative, for instance: 50% crit chance on a weapon with a +50% crit chance mod = 75%. Because its 50% + (50%(50%)) Half of 50% is just 25% + the original 50% so again Multiplicative = 75% Additive would just be 50% base + the 50% increases =100% By default, Warframe uses multiplicative always UNLESS it says "base increase" which just adds straight up to the stat.

I find keeping headshot set to 0 is the best. At least for dps calculated, you could say that "Yeah i land a lot of headshots" But when comparing builds if it isn't a headshot build, there is no reason to add the headshot %. You could assume that if the dps calculated at 0% headshots is high, then ofc your damage including your real headshot chance is going to be amazing. I do this mostly because i know i hit headshots a lot, but can't assume its a high % depending on the weapon i am using. (i.e submachine gun vs different rifles.) This is a really nice excel sheet, thank you! Edit: Unless of like i said; its a headshot build; where you do want to set a minimum for the build to work. i.e i need to land a headshot 50% of the time for this build to actually do anything for me.

I had read Out of Cover Damage and Damage to Elites were in the same additive bucket, but your video shows them as multiplicative with each other. I'm assuming you double checked that, but I just wanted to make sure by asking here... Thanks a lot for the well-done spreadsheet and all the research!

Also in case anyone was wondering there is a shooting range that you can unlock at the White House but it's extremely advanced over the one from the 1st game. They have lanes for every instance such as time to kill, dps, accuracy and a couple more lanes where you can test all of your calculations!
