I did do a Heroic last night and I believe one of the guys was using a build such as this, but I don't remember seeing any flags on any enemies so he may not have been using true patriot.

Replace Forge Holster with True Patriot holster, and then use Motherly Gloves instead, they give much more shield health.

Absolutely. I farmed for the Forge holster for quite a bit. Super disappointed when I got it and realized its additive instead of multiplicative (either that or its based on a tier 1 shield skill). Added ~250k health to a ~14 million shield.

I love the division 2 the only problem i have is im LVL 40 and even when i was Gear score 515 i just had a problem with knowing what to keep and that to sell/discard. I always see youtube videos of people with these perfect gear sets and when i find a named gear peice or anything its alwasy super low stat roles and you can only modify one attribute, i guess my question is could you either reply to this comment or make a video on kinda like inventory managment, like how to start making gear sets once you are LVL 40 or what to save/ how to get higher roles on items Etc. Press R to mark items (favorite them or mark to deconstruct) obviously, add anything you can to the recalibration library. Basically, at first you just want to find 'good enough' brand set pieces to get you going (3 providence defnese for examplpe). Then hard focus on your build (blue, red, yellow). Basically, anything with one god roll, either you add to the library or add a second one to it (provided switching the talent isnt more important). What you are looking to use is items with two god roll stats (or near god roll) so you only have to either recalibrate the other one, or the mod socket (or talent, but that should have been a priority). You perfectionate the build buy working your way to items with perfect rolls on core attributes, attributes talents and sockets. Hybrids dont dont seem to work so i dont recommend going 3 blue 3 red for example, i recommend going all in on one type of build (skill, weapon damage, or armor.... and armor doesnt really work well in high level pve, youll need to build around the shield) It wont take you long to have a well stocked library and soon enough youll only be picking up items with perfect rolls or talents you are missing. As for what pieces to keep, anything with three strong rolls might be worth something to a build at some point. I suggest only keeping items you plan to use immediately or that have complementary high roll attributes. Something with one blue, one red and one yellow attribute probably wont fit anywhere without recalibration, but an item with lets say +1 skill tier, good skill haste and good crit chance could very well be recalibrated or used as is in a skill build. Everything else, mark as trash and deconstruct/sell.

If it has low rolls and it’s not a good brand set or gear set get rid of it. If it is a good brand set and it has the right stats but they are low, use it to start with and replace it with something better later on. And any high rolls keep to put into your library

I hear you buddy I feel the same way. Just remember a lot of people who make videos literally do this for a living they have invested a ton of time.I have literally been spending all of my free time when I'm not working playing the game when the DLC first launched and I've been able to make some what of a decent damage build. But literally every day I get on KZbin and I see my favorite KZbinrs talking about the next god build it's almost too much. Then I literally found out today there's an exotic AR that you can only get from legendary. I literally almost felt like quitting the game. I'm just getting over the fact all of my exotics I work so hard to farm and get before are all useless with no way to upgrade them. And now I literally have zero exotics I'm just trying to remind myself it's just a game and I don't need to have all of the cool stuff right away. It just makes it difficult when the community is so elitist hard to find good people to play with if you don't have the right stuff

Jürgen Domian motherly love increases your skill HP 20% up and forge makes your shield HP 10% up. there is only 10% deference. but motherly love gives your shield much more HP than what forge does. I think the base amounts of those two calculations are deferent.

Personally prefer Technician over Firewall for tank. The Artificer Hive works well with the shield due to the holster effect it has repairing the shield.

While I don't have the exotic Chest piece yet, I would probably use it over the Shield invuln one. It gives your team a SHIT TON of Armor, and with the Flamewall class, you bust out your Flame thrower while using your shield, kill a fool, and you reset that 45s cool down. I think that's pretty important.

Don Blais With perfect vanguard you can use your skill as a player to time it perfectly and get it every 25 seconds. I see your point but I doubt in legendary you pulling out that flamethrower and killing any fools with this current NPC meta just my 2 cents. Not too mention that shield invulnerability will be needed to spread that TP debuff as those legendary enemies will eat through your shield if you don’t have it.

Put the bigger shield on, use pestilence, and get your backpack to have protector on it. Every time you throw up a shield your teammates get buffed, when your shield takes damage they get buffed, when you hit the enemy with pestilence the receive damage even though you're going to throw the big shield up again. It's a great build for things like legendary capital building.

I run zero fs as like a "tow ohase build 1st portion lmg or smg doing damage, as soon as my armor regens with zero fs perk shield time. Zero fs perk is perfected unbreakable which regens 100% armor when yours breaks so I'll run bulwark with either the gunner pistol or liberty handcannon. The bonus armor is nice from vanguard when you need the invincible shield tied with the additional bonus armor which is perfect for when you're the only tank/going for support

I feel using the tactician skill with the class set hive skill and the crusader shield would be way better, bcuz the drone it sends while holstered fully heals the shield every 20 seconds or so, thus keeping it up even more and making sure it isnt destroyed as easily

This is odd, I had a similar build and my shield just melted, yours doesn't seem to be taking any damage and you appear to be ignored alot of the time, my shield would break in about 2-3 seconds so I swapped back to a sniper :(

Monk I run a similar build but without a tp chest and gloves, the shield should last bc its 6 blue and goes to 4.6 mil health, but when it comes to a rifle build it will obviously be shredded or if a jammer pulse is used, remember to strafe and pay attention to health/armor, gear mods (incoming repairs) or shield regen should help as well

@@kiaqxu I went full tank build, when I said I swapped, I mean I spent the next 20 hours building up a sniper build like I used to Run, my shield had 4.4M armour while I had effectively 2.8M via perfect unbreakable with boosting regen and healing given / revived as much as possible I was taken apart in seconds, I was using a shotgun and boosting its dmg up by being up close when killing and bonus dmg when my shield took damage (so non stop) to the point I was hitting around 1.8-2M dmg a shot and it just didn't feel viable in the slightest sadly as I was looking for a change of playstyle. (build was 5 blue 1 yellow).

It is because the healer in the team is keeping his shield alive. This tank build is actually not very good. The CC tanks are heaps better than this. Widz should stick to DPS as it is what he does best

During your battle there where certain times the shield was getting healed in big chunks way more that the active regen speed. What was proking that sudden heal of the shield. That the holy grail of a shield builds is how fast it can heal while engaged

Named armor pieces that don't have talents can roll specific attributes like that. Similar to how his holster has shield health which isn't a normal stat for armor at all.

I'm running a tank build with the Liberty pistol and 5 pieces of blue brand gear that's working great. My armor is around 1.4M, my shield is at just over 13M health. My talents are (don't recall the names) the one that gives everyone in the group bonus armor every time my shield gets damaged on a 4 second cooldown, it's 20% based on my number of blue items. My second talent is the one that gives 3% bonus armor every time I reload to the full group which is frequent since Liberty has a small mag. Then of course the Liberty talent is just amazing. Every body shot stacks a buff (up to 30), a headshot then refills the shield for 3% health per stack. I can just sit there bodyshotting everything over and over, then when I'm at about 20% shield health, pop someone in the head and boom, full shield health bar. I've been running this about 3 days now, I've been the tops in both kills and damage every mission since (my Liberty damage is at over 350K per round). I only die if my team can't keep my flanks clear. If too many guys get behind me, eventually I will go down.

@@kimwayne3721 Sure, don't mind at all. Keep in mind this is my own creation so feel free to improvise. It's a fairly easy to get build for the most part because the only "requirement" is the Liberty just to keep your shield health topped off. The armor is 5 Blue and 1 Yellow/Red item, you can go full blue or 3 Blue with 3 Yellow and still get pretty similar results. What I'm currently using is: 3 Pieces Badger Tuff (shotgun brand set), using it mainly for the 10% armor on kill. In the event something flanks me and I take armor damage, I can keep it refreshed here as 10% for me is 135k armor or so. 1 Piece Gila Guard just for the 5% armor 1 Piece 5.11 Tactical for 10% health. The last piece is where I've been changing it around. I've used 1 piece of the Douglas & Harding for 20% damage to pistols. With that I have about 11.6M shield health. I've tried 1 piece Hana-U-Corp for 1 skill tier and 10% skill haste so shield is up a bit quicker if it goes down. Here I will have around 13.3M shield. Lastly, I've used just about any other random blue piece, whatever stat bonus you want. That gives you a full 6 blue which results in about 13.4M. If I'm solo or in a weak damage group, I use the D&H just to make my Liberty hit harder. Dropping down to 11.6M is still more than enough and easy to keep up. If I'm in a pretty good group, I'll use anything Yellow or Blue for the reasons mentioned. Focus your recalibrations on your best Resist/Health/Armor/Armor regen rolls. The gear talents I mentioned are "Protector" and "Protected Reload", basically both just give bonus armor to me and the team, either when I take damage or when I'm reloading. That's pretty much it. You can probably do this without Liberty, but just having that makes this a lot easier to work with simply because the talent on it, I can restore up to 90% of my shields health instantly...hard to top that.

Firewall currently mostly for the fire resist, grenade and flamethrower for large groups of normal/purple enemies, but I've toyed with switching to Survivalist and replacing the revive hive with the mender ball. Last night I actually finally got the gloves for TP, so now I'm using 4 pieces of that (mask, holster, gloves, knees) with my same pack and chest. Now I have 11 rounds in Liberty which allows me to stack it's bonus quicker and deal more damage between reloads.

Could you use exotic backpack for more tankines?, since nades give you overcharge and overcharge gives you shield invulnerability and 500% shield regen for 15 sec, plus you get total of 10 nades, also liberty seems awesome on replenishing shield, few body shots and few headshot and i'm almost at full shield again that has 15 mil hp, thoughts?

If I remember right the nade backpack only increases skill level by one and i think overcharge only happens once you basicly reach skill 7. Since you run armor on most/all pieces and not + skill it doesnt overcharge you.

you can probably swap the true patriot backpack for an alpine summit that has vanguard as the perk and swap your holster for a true patriot. the alpine summit vanguard packpack stacks with the chest piece and also stacks with the group

The Pointman is a Gila chest with Perfect Vanguard, Also if he goes for an Alp summit backpack, he looses a blue gear mods slot which could be used to get protection against elites. This attribute makes a huge difference in heroic difficulty when tanking with a fragile shield like the Striker.

Im running your tank set with technician along with the crusader shield and Articifer hive. Im going to test it. Your recalibration is good on the holster, you have tier6 anyway. Shield scale with blue and yellow. 1.6armor on yourself is more then OK. The extra yellow benefits your second skill 😉

That's the purpose of having the pointman chest guard. It offers the 5 second invulnerability when it's initially up. That's why the specialisation sheild is better in this case.

I run it with the technician specialization and the artificer hive. The hive heals my shield for 65% every 10 seconds and I also run some headshot damage where I can to do as much damage as I can.

Hey @widdz so I have somewhat the same set up but I got true Patriots mask, backpack, gloves and holster all with blue core with a Gila guard kneepads and the new exotic chest so my armor rating is currently at 1.7M and my heatlh is 272.8I and my shield skill is at 4.7M heatly with 63kHP/s active and 96k holstered and I got 36% protected from elites do I need to change anything to get higher armor? So far I can live though heroic missions somewhat easily

Does tanking really matter in division 2 tho? How does aggro work? In the vid the party members got knocked down a few times. If this were back in wow when I was tanking that would be an awful job on my part.

There is a "threat" stat in the game which I believe acts as (aggro) it's super vague though. To be honest though there is no stand out "tank" besides equipping a shield, stacking armour and getting creative with brand/gear sets. With the new expansion introducing "legendary missions" there definitely should be a definitive "tank build" in my opinion.

Doesn't matter at all IMO. In a traditional MMO there is usually a way for a tank to take aggro via a shout or some sort of skill. Unless I am missing something, there is no way to take aggro in D2 and this build make no sense to me. I guess if your goal is to tickle enemies and make the mission take longer, than the build is pretty good.

@@metislord4904 Pretty sure that was the first game, I have not seen a threat stat in Division 2 at all. In fact it was usually on weapon mods, I don't have Warlords, did they add it I haven't seen it so far playing the year 1 content.

@@AllOutWar76 I wouldn't consider this a tank build, just a shield build. But run Technician with Bulwark shield and Artificer hive and get in people's business, and you've got a real tank. I don't fully understand how "threat" works in the game, but it is super easy to take aggro from things like heavies, dogs, turrets. With a full tank build, you can tank a couple of heavies at once and turn their backs to the rest of the group. Same with dogs. You can tank the turret/sniper fire while your DPSers take down enemies. You can tank shield guys and spin them around so the rest of the group can shoot them in the back. You can facetank named enemies and draw 100% of their attention. You can facetank grenade dogs and enemies so they aren't spamming grenades onto the squishy DPS. All of this tanking can be done for extended periods of time -- with the artificer, basically forever, your shield is not going to break. Tanking is an incredibly useful build to run in Div 2.

Hey widdz any chance you could shed some light on the True patriot, bloodsucker, seeker mine exploit, I play on aus servers and find the same people everyday and all they do is mark you with full flag send one seeker mine as soon as it blows up on you it triggers the fireworks explosion if it misses and they have cluster they get so much bonus armour because it mine registers as a kill for some reason despite hitting nothing

The shield is the only skille effected by skill tier and how many blue main stats you have. So you can run 2 yellow and 4 blues and your shield would still be tier 6 while the rest of your skills would be tier 2.

Tardegrade chest is better than pointman imo. I think pointman is better for pvp. Tard has tht awesome aoe bonus armor that you can give to your teammates. At 1.5-1.6mil armor you can give them an extra 1.2-1.3 for 10 seconds which is immensely helpful. you can also reset the cd with signature kills.

A question, guys. I've been trying to find info myself, but no results. I already have an agent, 25 clock lvl, dps. I want to create another one, healer. What will happen to him (30 lvl or lvl 1?), to world (including Washington, will the missions be opened to me or i'll have to redo all story from start?), to clock lvl (will it be 1 or 25 as my 1st char has?), and what will happen to season and it's rewards? I don't want 32 lvl green gear from rewards lol.

I appreciate the time and effort you put into making this but... I have to ask... What's the point exactly? The end of the video all I see is your team mates demolishing everything while you are doing basically 0 DPS and are not holding aggro on the mobs. Definitely not trying to hate, maybe I am missing something. I understand a tank takes damage and does less DPS but I just don't see what this build does for your team other than making the mission take longer to complete. Maybe someone can enlighten me?

It's basically a buff/debuff build. He explains all of the buffs and debuffs the build provides in the video. Those buffs/debuffs make the fights quicker, easier and more survivable.

The smaller Shields eat a huge amount of the bullet spam that's thrown at you. Because of this you don't get laser focused by 800rpm assault rifle spam. This is the factor that makes the player feel squishy, the individual shots aren't huge damage, but the volume/fire rate and accuracy is what's so devastating. So you need a large amount of armor to absorb the peripheral damage that hits your head and legs. Also, with vanguard, and 1.8 mil armor, you're looking at more than doubling the rest of your parties armor, taking them out of most sniper one shot range. Also, 1 skill tier doesn't do anything useful for any skills.

I've been running a max crit chance and high crit dmg 1 mil armor build around the lady death smg and tbh its not like op or anything but its so much fun and does pretty good dps still.

@@ghostingyou1218 Farming open world bosses around Peck slip and Two Bridges. It can drop anywhere from openworld bosses but this is where i farmed it since there's a pretty high chance to encounter them there. Might take a whils though it has a low drop chance.

So I have a question. I bought Division 2 on the sale and I’m probably going to buy the dlc later I’m gear score 515 and love playing the game and loved division 1 I told myself I’d start making builds when I get to a higher score I’m at the max and I don’t understand what to do like if I’m not 515 does it effect anything? Is there an updated video on how to make builds? Also I’m just super confused about gear score does it matter? Where do I even get high tier stuff and what should I be doing? Well 515 means you are capped on gear score. So now you just try to farm for stuff with high rolls and recalibrate to perfect whatever build you are making.

If you're planning to grt the dlc don't push builds to hard cause all that gear won't matter as soon as you get to NY (you'll get to lvl 40) Aside from that the baseline of every build is knowing what you want... Damage? Tank? Skill damage? Healer? You can stack Red core attributes to increase you weapon dmg Blue core attributes to increase your health and shield health Yellow core attributes to make you skills more effective There are brand sets in the game, they buff specific things like a weapon type or your skill damage or healing, or even your accuracy and such... But moat importantly, build around talents. You can see all the talents in the recalibration library. Talents are important cause they synergise with playstyles, weapons and other talents, so just try to keep the ones that work around the same thing in check. Your minor attributes on gear and mods can be seen as bonuses to your build. Check out gear sets when they drop and more importantly gear set talents on the backpack and chest piece to see if it's a playstyle you would like

all gear pre lvl 40 is pretty much junk at lv40(with some exceptions). There are alot of build guides on YT if ur level 30 and want to stay 515 gearscore for awhile tough. But get the expansion mate!

Can 100% confirm this build works excellent in Heroic, feels like a bullet sponge when playing. But does fall pretty short in Legendary without having a decent healer or tier6 fixer drone following you, just doesn't have the viability as an actual tank with True Patriot.

Focused may work to for the chest talent since it can be proc while aiming with shield activated. However I think this is unintentional and your losing a good buff for your team with armor buff
