I have a similar Backfire build. I'm using 1) Backfire 2) Pyromaniac AR Hollow Man Mask | Momento BP Fenris Chest w/ Unbreakable | Firm Handshakes Gloves Cavalier Holster | Cavalier Knee Pads Cru-Shield | Striker Drone [Gunner Specialization] So far it works really well, I can semi tank Heroic Bounties very easily and if I run into trouble I just grab some trophies.

Hear me out. Ninjabike with one piece steel works to get you to 20% armor on kill with the gunner spec, im not a huge fan of memento because im just not good at running around and collecting trophies while fighting. Im just spitballing, any suggestions other than that idea? Also great call on the named mask piece, the main reason ARs are so good is because of their utility against chungas and bots, bringing that extra punch to the smg build is nice

Great build. I’m just in love with striker though. XD with my striker set and Backfire, sure I’m not hitting this dmg right off the back but after getting max stacks in striker and backfire, you can easily run around in heroic and legendary without a shield solo or party. The bleed screen doesn’t really bother me and I’ve found that when you roll it kind of negates the effects of the negative movement from backfire. After rolling you will sprint but just not as fast. Me and my bud was farming summit on legendary and I rarely ever took dmg to my hp, unless they got downed and I had to try and save them.

I tried this build a while ago, then switched it to one of the newer gear sets x2, have less damage but made to defence and team support with 100%, works awesome and so cool to just be immune to everything. Good build though.

I've tried all build combinations with the backfire and i still find it useless to run backfire with any build sets. Its stacks are cancelled and outweighed by the punishment it gives you for using it. If you're gonna run any smg build ofcourse if you have the ouroboros use that but if you don't then obviously the dark winter would be the next best thing or if you dint have either one of those then a vector 9mm or vector 45mm crafted until you get weapon or smg damage crit chance and crit damage and change the talent to killer still works great.

Don't worry they are nerfing striker and St. Elmo soon. It's already on their todo list. I wonder how much though. Tbh reverting strikers losing stacks on missing shots would be just fine even I don't want them to reduce the damage but then again what we can do we can just watch them do it and if it's too much of a Nerf guess just move on to the next.

Well It is Good if you play around covers because Striker has Insane DMG but no healing you can use Memento or Ninja and add some armor on kills to the build but that beats the whole Striker DPS meaning at that rather use something else.

What's the point of using backfire when MPX has almost 100% higher dmg? My MPX with killer hits up to 1,3 mill. CHD

Backfire with striker hits 2.5mill too. Not everything has to have a point. Build diversity is a thing and trying new and different thing is the part of the game whether you choose it or not it's a personal preference. Me who loves to try different things I like to share it with others because there are lots of people who enjoys it and likes to do the same and that's what builds a beautiful helpful community :)

@@AnYTimeGaming I'm not intending to criticize you, I'm just giving my perspective. But this isn't a Striker build. I tried your hazpro Striker build. It's not bad (for a Wright in incursion it's pretty OK for fire, lava etc. ), but 2.5 mil doesn't come close. Too many circumstances have to come together to get you over 2mil of damage. The stack is gone very quickly. I don't have anything against trying new builds, but it should make sense and I don't see the point here because other builds have much higher damage and better time to kill. I've never understood players who play a mission for half an hour rather than 10 minutes. For me, just backfire builds just don't make sense because you lose the benefits from other builds and most importantly the damage isn't that great either. If it really was a perfect weapon after getting all the stacks etc, it would be worth doing a build for it, but even after building special builds for backfire, it's still a mediocre build.

Backfire is the very definition of Rube Goldberg DPS. You give up so much to get right where you would have been regardless in a more straightforward way. Too much "building around the exotic" ethos and it should be dialed back or this will always be a niche exotic. My biggest gripe is the stacks all "poof" making it stupid to keep restacking. If they decayed slowly, it would be a much more viable weapon, with or without a bleed mitigation/hazpro focused build.

@@Snakes.StartToSingYou can just ignore the bleed if you are okay with the Slow animation and build it around regen which wont lose the Crits stats like it does for Hazard Protection. We can just use the regens we get from gears and keep the High DMG. Besides hitting over 800k is really high DMG for Solo. But, I think most people just want the Crit DMG stacks to stay longer.

I mean we are compromising the DMG because of the Bleed and relying on the weapon to do DMG and if it could just lose stacks slowly then it would be a great SMG and I don't think I would use any other SMG than Backfire if this was the case :D

cool build, tested with a few Asian speed runner friends, tested solo against other dps builds, kills way too slow for us in the elite 1% groups ... once you get used to clearing all content and enemies in the game in damn nea 0. something seconds its really hard to go back to the slow burn .. its almost like a dopamine hit is lacking 😥 ... i wish i was new to this game all over again .. the speed of clearing and my friends have spoiled me.. now .. cannot stomach slow clears in content at all .. sucks

IDK why some people think using a shield hurts their manlihood. It literally saves your life so your group members don't have to pick you up every 2mins...The Striker shield even buff your Damage and also to someone who is standing behind you...
