I put this together, except I am using a breaking point mask, holster and gloves, foxes knees and a zoo chest and bp. Everything with headshot and headshot mods. Headhunter and vigilance of course. There are a few different ways you can put this together.

ninjabike bp, breaking point mask and holster, eagles grasp, fox's prayer, and chainkiller; aka named walker harris chest with perfect headhunter. white death sniper gives more headshot dmg, M1A CQB. one shots everything unless it has a helmet. named enemies get dropped one shot if im using white death. this is rifle variant. marksman variant uses hotshot mask and gloves, habsburg holster, and one breaking point piece, still using chainkiller and ninjabike bp. white death primary and a g28 for the secondary to run and gun with. once again, one shots everything unless it has a mask on. two to three shots on rogue agents. goodluck out there.

i'm using Perfect Headhunter and vigilance with my set up but it seems often that when getting chain kills the headhunter buff glitches out and its 30s uptime speeds away like it only has a 2s uptime then it wont proc until i get a normal headshot. strange anyone else know why this might be?

You can't use the Relic named rifle. The proc only works continuously if you use the normal determined talent. The relic only works for 1 kill, I did the same thing when I first discovered these sniper builds.

If you're using the relic named rifle, it only works for 1 kill. You need the normal determined talent.

u need to start with a real headshoot kill with the nemesis.. then u can change to rifle and hit everywhere and get the headshoot dmg in every single shoot

i'm only at about 125SHD watch level and sorta learning the recalibrate stuff etc, so you doing near 10mil a shot is insane to me, i break stuff down and collect everything i can and still don't have enough to reroll stuff till i get a god roll, also don't when i'm still learning build and trying different ones out till i find something i can understand. I'm just sticking to what i get and just recalibrate from there atm. 10mil though, ooof

I'd assume you can just the nemesis to 1 shot a purple to proc head hunter then you swap to the m1a

Signature boosting builds always make me wish they would allow you to create the same amount of characters as signature weapons. Even though it takes about the same amount of time to fast travel to B.o.O and change them as it takes to log out and change characters. Maybe if they removed the whole need to go to B.o.O. to change signature weapons, it would save a lot of time and head ache. Perhaps being able to change them at the stash or any and all save houses. Idk. It doesn't break the game just personal seemlessness. This is a build I still definitely am going to setup on an alt character. So I don't have to stash swap build pieces as much. 😅

Same. I had to swap from my rifle to my marksman because my rifle wasn’t doing anything. At all. First I thought my aim just sucked then I thought I was about to get kicked? That’s when I swapped and tada! Sniper rifle was fine. 🤨 When I picked up ammo, I didn’t even get any rifle. It definitely wasn’t firing. And when it did, it sounded like a silenced handgun in a movie. lol

You know you're losing a lot of damage or stats by not using any scopes right? This is an RPG, not a milsim, every attachments have stats and bonuses that they provide when you equip them on your gun.

No, you're still guaranteed headshots. Perfect determined is all garbage. A while ago there was talks to make 'regular' determined more like perfect... But never happened

I know it's a headshot build but if you wanted to spec your pieces for crits instead of headshot is the build still effective enough to run or does it severely take away from the build's ability to shine because it's no longer being spec'd into headshots? Headshot kills give way more xp and crits will not kill as fast/ less damage. The point in this build is 1 headshot kill can be chained into endless headshot kills with bodyshots

There’s a better way to run this.. instead of having the 2 piece for magazine size + 20% damage. You can run a 3rd breaking point for 30% headshot then perfect HH for more dmg

I have the same build. Spent a bunch of resources to optimize everything that wasn’t and I still can’t kill an elite in less than 2 shots. Sometimes 3-4. Deal breaker for this build. 😢 All reds and HS is at 205% but just won’t work. Only difference is no expertise.

This build is either broken or has been nerfed since the post. Copied build - all gear pieces the same - all god rolled after making some changes (but not maxed) - same weapons - all talents correct too (not using named relic) but chain kills don’t work. First shot is fine with Nemesis getting about 28 Million and second is too with M1A - getting about 12.5 Million - both enemies dead -but beyond that the chain doesn’t continue sadly.

told you m1a classic is now the best semi-auto 'sniper' with breaking point (not 4p) if you want to to headhunter + determined. turn off ragers if you are struggling with the HP threshold consistency. I use a zoo vigilance bag instead of memento, but both of them work fine. concussion also not a bad choice.

I, myself, prefer having the survivability when trying to fly through content and farming. But yeah, if it's just to do one mission, max damage on targets, you probably got it with those. But when you get your momento stacks rolling... You get 5% weapon per red core. That's smoking both of those backpacks, with 3% Regen and skill efficiency. I usually run bloodsucker myself, don't like picking up trophies especially when it was scavenged skills, made me get ones I didn't want to

@SCarter02767 m1a is just slightly faster is the only advantage over 4p hotshot and an mmr like sr1. There I use bloodsucker (because don't need the power). With ragers on you have to clear 12.6mil (consistently, beware optimal range causing the bullet portion of your damage to dip) to 1 tap an elite solo heroic. So all red and vigilance is needed even with the new gear, which also will let you 1 tap a red off the jump and climb the ladder. So more ammo and quicker target reacquiring is the advantage here (ammo too) vs my normal 5 directive xp farm. But the price you pay is less survivability. However you can run a shield, so there's that if you like. I hate memento stacks dropping when I fast travel to safe houses so I don't tend to run it for xp farming, but it's definitely super strong.

It is a very strong exotic, but I cannot stand picking up trophies and losing them constantly from a fast travel or just stepping away for a few minutes. I too am running a zoo bp with vigilance. Also a zoo chest with headhunter. I opted to go with 3 pc breaking point to get that 30% increased headshot damage, which to me is more valuable than contractors or more weapon handling. I might try them both out in the range and see what wins out. Also using chc instead of weapon handing because I don't need weapon handling on an m1a

@mikerzisu9508 running a pack also gives you more flexibility for other configurations. I went 3p breaking point too over contractors. Damage is samey with better handling. Vigilance just blows everything else out of the water damage wise. Handling vs crit is whatever. The extra crit isn't needed and I prefer consistency. It helps on accident sometimes since optimal range etc sometimes breaks your flow. With ragers, it's right on the edge, even all red, with Vigilance and expertise.

Youre better off with hotshot, determined on an MR, headhunter, and vigilance Hotshot gives you unlimited ammo and you dont have to reload Way more damage so you can 1 shot any non armor plate enemies or 2 shot an armor plated enemy No need for any of the other frills CP's under 5 minutes to clear Propaganda broadcast under 2 minutes to clear Hostage at or just under a minute to clear Clear any heroic 5 directive content solo without ecen having to try that hard

Can I ask a question? It’s much easier than my lengthy post has made it. lol. I just want to give as much info as possible so I don’t waste anybody’s time. 😊 I’m relatively new to D2 (lvl 1421) and as it’s the first looter I’ve ever played, I’ve gotten stuck in my safe play style. 😬 Especially when solo, I’m a shoot from cover, skills loving AR and sniper rifle kind of player. I tend to break things down if I don’t use them or don’t need them in my library. 😬 Sooooo… I want to make this build my sniper build, but I don’t have a classic M1A and I just found out I can’t craft one. boo. ☹️🫠 Luckily the rifles I HAVE kept are max stats. Between what I have on hand or can craft, is there one y’all would recommend as a temporary replacement? Here’s my current choices from my stash… -ACR SS -Artist’s Tool -Everlasting Gaze -Resolute MK47 -Surge -Whisper -UIC15 MOD2 I’m totally up for crafting something else. I can craft all of the ones at the bench except for Stage Left and SOCOM M1A. I DO like having I’ve got several good choices for snipers so I’m good there. I usually keep my M700 as my secondary. Hopefully I can come across a CM1A or eventually pick one up at a vendor! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Until then, I’m stuck making do with what I’ve got or whatever I can craft. 🫠

i don't think any of the rifles are strong enough outside of the 1886 and m1a classic. basically you need enough damage to headshot kill a red with one or two shots and then the next target needs to be another red and then you can kick things off from there. for the 1886 on either build you can barely 1-shot kill a red and your next shot can barely kill a purple but 3rd shot onwards can 1-shot most yellows. based on the description of your playstyle you're better off with a hotshot determined sniper build with the model 700 or sr-1, since you don't seem to need a shield and the rifle builds are more hybrid run-and-gun. for those if your stats are right you can 1-shot kill a purple to start and then go on from there.

I struggle to constantly use a scope, but holy moly! With the way that gun and build plows through stuff?! I’ll take it! lol I’ve got some of the other gear you mentioned. I’ll definitely compare the 2. I don’t run and gun so I’m using the Ninja. That helps beef up my stats. It did pretty well for me both solo and with my friend. @@suzyq-zy216 good for you! Nice to see players still excited about the game. If you don't like playing scoped in then the sniper rifles make even more sense. Take off the stronger scopes and just put on maybe an ACOG for optional scoping in at longer ranges. Just use the crosshairs and click when it turns red will be pretty fast. And you don't need the headshot damage boost if you go hotshot headhunter determined. For ninjabike can even just use: 1pc hotshot 1pc aces 1pc Habsburg 1pc breaking point and the chainkiller chest piece. Sr-1 as main weapon or model 700 with determined. All rolls reds headshot damage primary weapon handling secondary. Have fun!
