If they pushed out an offline mode patch for Division 1 that would be cool at this stage but to just kill the game would be sad its the problem with these always connected games.

With client server designed games I would be skeptical there ever would be any type of offline patch for these decisions are based on how many people are playing the game. If enough people are playing it I would see them wanting to keep the servers up and running, but if they don't see enough interest to keep the servers running I don't see them wanting to spend the money to redevelop aspects of the game so it could be run without requiring a server.

As I understand it, too many systems in the game rely on external servers so it's near impossible

I didn't think about it back when I bought the game, but it is DEFINITELY a common problem (industry structuring games that way/always online...even Single Player games do it now, which is RIDICULOUS)...I just don't buy those types of games anymore. Literally no point, far as I see...

They better leave it alone. This is still one of the greatest games online. And it's still better then D2 in my opinion. Still play it and there is nothing like survival or the under ground in D1 and the missions in D1 put the missions in D2 to shame. Theuy have to still be making money on it because every time I log in the lobby is packed.

I agree there's nothing like Survival in D2, of course there's a couple of modes I have yet to get into, but the Summit is literally just the underground in the other direction. I would argue that the summit is actually better than the underground (I loved the underground) because it has all of the same mechanics and design philosophy but with the hugely beneficial targeted loot system.

Play this game almost every day for the past two years. Took me a long time to gain a true understanding of how to play, and I feel like I'm still learning each time I log on. By no means am I a seasoned gamer, but it's the most visually arresting environment one could ever imagine. Survival and Underground are fantastic. The PvP is unparalleled and assures that one is never bored. It will be a sad day when they eventually shut it down, which appears inevitable. The industry is changing, and that's the simple fact. But for now, the rumors are just that. Let's see how it all plays out.

The Division is a piece of gaming history, and were Ubisoft to take down the servers it would not only be a huge disappointment but it would also garner a lot of resentment from fans of the franchise possibly resulting in a negative reception to future releases. This would be another example of why "Live Service" is a detriment to gaming and gamers, and at a time when the suits at Ubisoft are preaching about "getting used to never owning their games" this really is ironic timing and not a good look. Fingers crossed it's just a communication error and somebody forgot to activate the GE. I'd hate to see the Division disappear nor do I want the same to happen to Wildlands either while thinking about the older Ubi titles. The industry is heading towards a dark period for sure, and we as consumers have the ability to push back against these subscription models.

No problem with them closing the servers if they offer a 100% refund or a 100% offline mode. This is an issue with many of Ubisofts titles.

I hope they are not gonna shutting down the division 1. I want this game to stay forever. Or if they do not like to support it more, i hope they are gonna release an update that the game is going to be like any single player game, that you buying it and you have it in your game list and play it any time until you die. This actually would be my dream about this game because i want to go free roam in dark zone without those pvpidiot cheaters around

I get you, its the problem with games that require a constant server connection. One day that server will end and the game goes with it. Nothing new and has happened with many games. Hopefully in this case there is nothing to worry about and this was just a good rumor to discuss.

I just don't buy "always online"/server dependent games anymore, let alone DLC etc for them. It's literally just pointlessly throwing your money away...I actually look into whether a game is built like that before buying now & "NOPE!" the F* on outta there if they do...

Tbh this whole thing about server shutdowns started because Ubisoft are shutting down the servers for the crew 1 on march 31st and the crew 1 ain’t getting an offline patch so div 1 server shutdown is inevitable at some point and it’s gonna be the exact same situation as the crew where we don’t get an offline patch. People seriously needs to go to court against Ubisoft because of this. It should be against the law to have an always online game and not have an offline patch before the servers shut down.

That probably explains why i keep getting kicked off randomly out of the game. Its always a server problem. Might as well make it offline and save the game.

Playing the Div1 atm, and its such an immersive experience, understand why they would, if i were UBI ide shut the servers down, its not personal, its a business. Yet, along with its sibling the Div2, both are in a league of there own. It will be a sad day if they do

Since they havent activated any global events, i hope the servers wont shutdown, division 1 has been one of my top favourite games, specially in making builds ! I thought it was weird that global events didnt started during januari at all ...

While the franchise is still selling games, they won't turn the servers for Div1 off, it's the main part of the games story lore, and it's still WAY more populated than Div2

I hope not!! It would be a shame. In terms of how poulated the games are I do need to correct that though. Div 1 still has good numbers for sure but in the last 30 days Div 2 had 4x the amount playing. This is just using steams stats they use for concurrent players on games and doesn'r count console numbers.

Currently, it’s Ubi’s Network Support that are taking care of TD1. TD2 was supposed to be transferred to that team a few years ago, remember that dev message? Luckily TD2 continued interest and in-game purchases have kept it as is. I have been begging for a TD1 remaster or inclusion in TD2 especially with WoNY. Add in all f NYC, Survival and Underground plus upgrade to Snowdrop 2.0, and have much more longevity for years till TD3.

I had to take Sony to the BBB just to get my $8 back over the pack that has the EOD, Sniper, Pilot (& forget the 4th outfit)... I bought it & despite showing (both in-game & PSN stores) I bought/owned it, it never unlocked or became available to use. UbiSoft had NO intention of doing anything to sort it out (they outright ignored me for 12 of the 14 days I had to refund the purchase & then played coy/incessantly requested receipts I had already submitted several times). Then Sony told me to kindly go F* myself after promising me they would refund if Ubi didn't resolve the issue (I approached them 1st as was a PSN Store purchase & they told me it was a Ubi problem/not a Sony problem). I'm no financial expert, but maybe honouring purchases & not treating customers like chumps (& effectively trying to rip them off) when something goes wrong would be an idea if they're looking for good ways to make $...just saying. I now no longer trust making purchases on that game, or from Ubi (& Sony, considering) after THAT~

Well thats depressing... I like to play div 1 around Christmas, as it IS an xmas game (the best 1 @ that.) Kinda like how the die hards are considered 🎁🎄🥶❄️ ⛄ movies now. Lets have it remastered 👍

In my opinion this will happen one day, but there is still a lot to enjoy. Once a week, I usually play a good survival game. When the servers go down, I think it will be right after The Division 3 is released, it will never be before. Because this would cause something negative in the franchise, and I suppose that companies nowadays speculate on everything. What's more, I'm almost sure that when this happens, the game will have already had some update where we can play it without having to connect to a specific server, that is, using only our connection. Logically, many things will be sacrificed here, for example the pvp in zo will no longer exist, only in the pve version. Furthermore, pvp would only be possible in conflict. The PVE game could easily be off, assuming that some important update is released as I said before, since this type of game runs not only online servers, but also many configurations, in addition to the NPCs. The division 3 will not be released until 4 or 5 years after development has just begun, so we still have about 6 years for any of what I said to happen. There is also the option that you mentioned, which would be to remaster it, and "merge" it with TD2. This would be very nice, to be released as a DLC, with a campaign from before TD2, so people would know even more about the story. Logico preserving its original audios and voices. Greetings!

How does "War Frame" stay online for "Free" for over 8 years now? If War Frame can run for free I would think Division could remain functional as well...

War frame has micro transactions as any other free to play game does. Some of these in war frame allow players to skip playing to get things sooner. So it is not classed as a pay to win game but more a pay to skip. I imagine it has cosmetics you can buy too. Games like this if they are successful can create more revenue than games that sell for full retail price. It is games like this why we see developers focus on micro transactions in games nowadays. It is also how the mobile game industry works but they are more pay to win and mobile gaming is the biggest profiting gaming business there is. 99% of mobile games are free to play. The Division 1 does have an element of cosmetics for purchase but at this point I am sure they make very little with the small base that it has.

I just re bought it on pc i own it on console it plays way better on pc than ps5, div1 is so much better than div2 the overall Synergy atmosphere etc only thing its lacking is a good movement system like div2 smooth to jump around enter in & out of cover

1 thing is for sure if Division 1 is closing im not the guy moving to Division 2 its just not my game i played it in year 1, there is also a thing like a game can get to much attention, we know that Ubisoft if it was up to them move the playerbase to Division 2 or future titles but they differ so much from the original game is there even a close incentive to play those as a long time veteran in the Division 1 i doubt thats the case, dont get me wrong i played Div 2 and i have like 2000 hours in it, but in Div 1 i have 9500 hours in my case that probaly says something,if the game goes offline and eventually it will it think my heart will brake because of that

It's now in a MAJOR risk of being shut down. Global Events were taken out of the game, and Ubisoft in general is in an ever worse spot than when this video was published. It stinks, but... i don't expect it lasting beyond maybe a year or 2.

The thought of this drives my anxiety up. They Should have it like if you have a physical copy of the game then it can be played offline. It makes no sense to have a physical disc of the game but can not play it. Theft in a sense. Buy our product but we dictate when you can use it. Just a terrible business model.

There are rumors that someone at ubisoft posted that the servers for this game are confirmed to shut down soon but they immediately deleted the post. I don't know how true this is but with how much they have been dodging the topic for the last few weeks, I'd say this game is finally nearing the end of it's life cycle.

It's so sad when my favourite ps4 game of all time closes, but i dont play it anymore. Once a month, i might jump on, but after doing the same thing for the millionth time, but after 8 years, i guess they need room for Heartlands?

They shouldn't be still selling it if if they plan to cancel it. There should at least have a 6 month period where they advertise the fact. Imagine buying it and being half way through levelling and they take your purchase off you. Disgraceful

Entrei em contato com o suporte e, a resposta que tive foi que: O suporte está sendo direcionado para a Divisão mais recente, ou seja, a Divisão 2. Continuei a questionar que não haveria motivos para parar com os EGs do DV 1 porque não atrapalha o DV 2. Não obtive mais respostas. Mas é simples, eles querem jogadores na Divisão 2 e por isso estão matando a Divisão 1 aos poucos. Sem suporte, sem banimentos, hackers aos montes, servidores sem manutenção e agora, o corte dos EGs. Eles sabem que a Divisão 1 é superior, sabem que muitos ainda permanecem nela. E não volta atrás porque se atualizarem a Divisão 1 para a nova geração, muitos deixarão o segundo para voltar ao primeiro game! Acho que estamos caminhando para o fim da Divisão 1 😢😢😢😢

on PC the game has maybe 1k players idk about xbox/ps5 but what ive seen from twitch live streams it seems to be quite popular if not more personally ive played div2 and i dont really care for it so im stubbornly staying at div1 until it gets shutdown i did the same with halo2 but hey guess what once it does get shutdown private servers are a thing and will start poppin up and ill just play one one of those if i have to

We love people and animals, knowing that they will pass away one day... Is it a waste of time? There are still many people who love (and this is the right word) video games... Everything passes, but hundreds of hours spent with friends in the wonderful TD1 are for me almost priceless.
