The Division | Console Clear Sky 5 Minute Challenge

I received a lot of feedback regarding my Updated Clear Sky tutorial that I posted a few days ago, mostly that the kind of runs we were doing on PC would be impossible to do on console and I wanted to see that for myself. I wanted to try to complete under Five minutes on my Xbox One and I want to share the results in this video. Hope you enjoy!

What Marco failed to tell you about these runs is I (eakerr) was being beaten by my wife and told to get off and do the dishes the whole time. This wife agro made the 5 minute run extra sweet as I was able to shut her up when I showed her what that time accomplished( actually she thought I was dumb AF) lol but honestly I hadn't played the game or a shooter in like 5 months and my gear didn't have any EAD or dmg to elites I know someone out there who's been playing and has the gear can beat our mark. I'm expecting a lot of people to beat that mark, show us those videos.

Finally, someone understands the real challenge of console. I have over 2200 hours of the division, a quite minmax agent, actually 4, but still feel a challenge to do clear sky on heroic as I mostly play with randoms. I can do it but ever done it under 20 min. So yes console is harder to clear content for all the reasons you specified on your video and a great salute to you as you had the humbleness to recognize it and express it.

I tip my hat to you Marco!! Thank you for bringing this clear difference between PC/Consoles and this is why Console PTS is so, so important. Very rarely do we see Massive guys play on console and this is why... it is a bitch-ton harder. And this is another reason why they have to do far better getting more players on the console PTS (which will actually give decent feedback not just want to play early), so that a better balance and game can be reached. Yep, I know my limitations when it comes to playing the game and another thanks goes your way for bringing that 2-300ms lag up too. Being in Australia we I tend to play with others from all over the globe which really hurts the gameplay. If anything you have confirmed for me many aspects of the console gameplay and region really can really hold a player back in The Division.

What you and your team managed to do on consoles was truly impressive. I’ve played both and consoles are extremely harder. Most FPS games change the NPCs between consoles and PCs and I think The Division should as well.

Glad to see you proved him wrong also glad to see the humble response to seeing how obnoxious console play can be we have to hunker down more and cant do movement the same as pc so pve and pvp play so differently on console from pc. But that being said you build tips do help amazingly as just like you said a good build from start and good team comp is the foundation as anyone can make a mistake enemies can act dumb or server issues or connection issues can cause deaths. So a solid composition/build for you and your team and a strategy as well as good communication can make a difference. I was shocked to see I could do any heroic asides the newedt incursion or legendary mission with randos even if they had no mics as long as they showed they could hear me or were decent at non verbals like if we wiped sending me a message or pointing out spots to go to or where to cover first by shooting at it or smacking me and leading me to a spot. For what its worth the game is amazingly well built despite its flaws and there is alot the devs could do with existing assets vs making new ones asides structure for new modes or new map/areas for last stand or add features for current modes/areas. Like for example an arwa outside the dz789 for last stand. Merc hunters as a power up u call in to disrupt an enemy team or even a survival mode where its just teams and one team gets randomly loaded in as hunters :) (I can dream of tomahawking people in the face cant I?) Hell id like to see the animations they use applied to us and certain npcs because u can clearly see a knife or hatchet on sone kits packs and in a cover based game I wouldnt mind a small amount of stealth play. That being said thats also easily achieved via fixing ai. An ai spotting me and laser beaming my way from a few blocks I just sniped at with a supressor and all his buddies know where I am too vs him and them hiding or if I kill him all of them going agro a mile away thru dark and snow and rushing me like wtf are they superman levels of sensory capabilities? The game and its eventual follow ups have immense potential to stand the test of time especially if like you in this vid players realize they need to stop calm down and realize they are doing something wrong or just arent setup/geared for something and come back later or adjust vs rage quiting or being caustic and it would help the community alot. Cept in pvp cuz thats pvp and every man for himself so git gud or u get got.

I'm happy that my team completes clear sky in 5min or so with all of us doing our own things. Our only excuse for not a lower time is because we like talking about things and are distracted by other topics we bring up and actually having a fun time playing. Honestly it shouldn't be a contest on lowest time. Of course finishing quickly is amazing but, it's not so impossible. Yeah our aim is not as great like pc and our movements maybe lacking behind pc but we still play the same game so whatever pc can do us console players can do ( just a little bit slower)

A big problem I as an xbox player have is my friends quit ages ago and I need to rely on matchmaking. So yea if I have a bad player in the group then heroic and legendary stuff can be a pain. If your lucky enough to have a group of friends to run content with then your in a huge advantage and it's fun. Really great vid though.

Thanks for showing the pc console difference! Imma ps4 player we were running it much like you but with 1 FM build in the back to draw the agro and mortars, the other 3 healers running boxes. Hit the pc and everyone sprint to the back with the FM guy and finish them off that way. Not fast by any means but a 20 min run is not bad

Maaaan, 8 hours on just 1 mission and repeat it over and over and over and over and ov.... That will make me so wasted for the entire day! haha.. two thumbs up Marco for your determination! Also, I hope that Massive creates a separate modifier for PVP and PVE. Like on a lightweight M4, there's a two toggles for PVP and PVE, that when a player enters either the game modes, the game will switch your stats and everything from PVP to PVE or vice-versa. That will make PVE players happy as they will not worried about the balances and nerfs that PVP causes.

Well i never said that DZ should have PVE modifier, but that should be obvious. This idea will save the PVE folks and have them enjoy their hard earned PVE gear. And also, if a new gear or weapon will be released, then devs should not worry about balancing it just to make sure that PVP will not get OP.

Did it on consol with a group of randoms, i was the only one who took support. We tried it again with multiple supports like reclaimer, i am very sure we did it in 5 minutes or just a bit over, didn't think to time it but been trying since i saw this video. Great tips thanks

Damn, you went through a lot of trouble. I'm a hybrid gamer myself. There's good console players but there are more potato players than good players. Look at the ratio as so, console has 30:70 good players while pc has 80:20 good players. This actually makes it hard to play certain modes. It's not impossible to do a certain mode in a particular time, it's finding the 30.

This isn't just a console thing, it's a hard content thing in general. While it varies from game to game, the percentage of the player base that has beaten (or in some cases even seen) the hardest content ranges from 1% to 13%. But when you look at the comments and message boards, it seems like more than half of the people claim to be part of that top 1%-13%, which simply doesn't add up. As seen in both this and the Single Player Problems video, once you remove 1 or 2 elements, be it the clan of high end players, the controls, ping, or whatever else, things get dramatically more difficult. Anyway, great video. Maybe once the global events have been out a while, you can go back and see how easy it is to get classified if you missed the event on console?

you can also run 4 pc set A gear for the extra gun talent dmg to elites so long as you roll ferocious on both weapons, mod all of the armor that takes 3% dmg to elites mod, and reroll all your armor into enemy armor dmg. That'll give you at least 50% dmg to elites and 38% enemy armor dmg

Try doing it with randoms, it gets even harder then, we were all decked out with some amazing gear but we constantly got wiped cause some of us didn’t have mics and others thought they could carry the team

Hi. I’m a casual player. I have no interest in speed run times but I just happened to come across you channel. I’m confused about watching this video. You said you had to get an Xbox One console. Then you said you already had a level 30 Division character on your “old” Xbox live account. Then later on you said, “I’m a guy who hadn’t played on the Xbox for years now.” Division came out last year. How’d you have a max character then?
